Remarks :

To get admission into the college, one needs to take the CUET exam which is an undergraduate entrance exam for Delhi University after class 12th. You are required to prepare the subject according to the eligibility criteria of the course provided by Delhi University. For ex. The eligibility criteria for B.Com(H) is 1 subject + 3 Domain ( one of which has to be Mathematics or Accountancy). Each paper is of 200 marks. After you have received the score of the test, Delhi University opens its CSAS portal in which you have to fill in the college preferences. Then, based on the score and your preferences, you are allowed the best college that can accommodate you. My score was 788/800 and I was allowed my first preference, Shri Ram College of Commerce.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Delhi University is particularly famous for B.Com (H) and Eco (H) and Shri Ram College of Commerce is famous for the same and this was the main reason why I chose the course in the expectation of a decent placement and Internship. The faculty here are quite qualified and supportive except a few. The teaching method varies from teacher to teacher. The new teachers that have been appointed lack in the quality but the teachers who have been teaching in the college for quite a time are pretty decent. The exams are conducted every six months in December and May. The exams are pretty easy and the checking is also quite lenient. The fee is quite decent but more the most of the other colleges at DU. Various financial assistance schemes are provided by the college but I was not able to avail any of them.

Internships Opportunities :

No, I have not opted for any internship yet. The internships are only offered to second-year students and the placements are for third-year students. Since I am in my first year, I can't opt for on-campus internships. The first year is mainly about gaining experience in the societies and conducting events for them.

Placement Experience :

The only eligibility criteria for placement is 75% attendance. A total of 100 recruiters visited the college in the last placement season with the most renowned names being BCG, JP Morgan, HUL, HSBC, and Bank of America. The highest package was offered by HUL worth ?35LPA. The total offers made were around 500. I am also planning to get a placement in a decent company after the completion of my degree. I wanna go for an MBA only after having a decent amount of experience.

Campus Life :

There are many societies in the college with each one having its own Annual and Semi-Annual event. The general period for conducting the fest is March and April. Except for the society events, the Student's Union organizes Business Conclave which is an undergraduate management fest, and Crossroads which is the Annual cultural fest, the biggest in the Delhi University circuit. Our college has a huge library with all the books related to Commerce, Management and Economics. The Sports facilities are extraordinary in our college. We have a huge sports complex with a basketball court and four badminton courts. One can issue sports equipment from the store easily. The college has a society related to all the fields from Commerce and Economics to HR and Finance. Also extracurriculars like Music Society and Dance Society. The Hostel in itself is a lot of fun. The food quality is worse and there are problems with hard water in the hostel. The Fee is 57,850 per year plus food, Water, and Electricity.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
