Manipal Institute of Technology comes under one of the most reputed Institutions in the country. It hosts a very diverse crowd coming from various parts of the country leading to a lot of exposure among the students. The factors that made me choose this college are the availability of various technical clubs , good faculty, the campus life. Both good and bad aspects of this college are the freedom and exposure it offers to the students. Students hold the responsibility of how they want to utilize it which also encourages the decision making skill, a very essential skill indeed. The Admission process includes a few steps that are to be followed to enroll the student. First they have to register for an entrance test hosted by the Institute all over the country called Manipal Entrance Test (MET) which is similar to JEE but also has English in the test, then sit for counseling based on the rank. Once alloted pay the fee - produce documents - select the hostel - Enjoy the campus life.
I personally chose this course because I always wanted to be someone who makes stuff, I wanted to experience the hardware aspect of engineering. The faculty is very well versed with what they teach most of them having a very good educational background, Phd holders, many professors publish various research papers in collaboration with the students. Most importantly every faculty is readily available for the student all the time clearing doubts, very supportive if a student genuinely wants to learn, students can even join professors in their research work and get their name from work in the published paper. Coming to the term exams each semester consists of two exams Mid- term and End- term, the difficulty is generally around the analytical level, a good understanding of the concept and ability to analyze the problem statement will fetch the student a very good grade at the end of each semester.
The general placement scenario is pretty good. The highest CTC offered for the year 2023 was 54 LPA, Average CTC of around 12.5 LPA and lowest CTC of around 4 LPA. Talking about the course I am enrolled in that is, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Out of 190 odd students 185 students were eligible for the placements and 170 of them were successfully placed, many students opted for higher studies abroad. The highest package offered was 44 LPA by a company called Palo Alto for the year 2024 the further data is still missing as the requirements have just started recently. The eligibility criteria is a CGPA of 6.5 - 7.0+ with no backlogs, the eligibility criteria mostly differs based on the company requirements.
The year wise fees for Electrical and Electronics Engineering course is around Rs 4,00,000 per annum. There are no reservations whatsoever in this college. The compulsory charges during the course completion to be paid by the students are Tuition fees which varies with respect to the branch (should be around Rs 4,00,000) and hostel fees which varies with respect to which hostel the student chooses to be in, it is generally around (Rs 1,00,000 - Rs 2,00,000) the hostel fees includes caution fees, mess fess etc. There are many Scholarship plans that a student could get, I'll mention the major ones here, If a student is in the top 5% in each academic semester he/she can get a 25% Tuition fee waiver. Another major Scholarship is the AICTE TFW in which if a student's family income is less than Rs 8,00,000 per annum. He/She can get a 60% of Tuition fee waiver.
I would describe the campus life in MIT as Gold. The crowd respects the space of each and every individual in the campus, if you love being with yourself it is the best place, if you love making friends and are a very outgoing type of person it is the best place. There are many fests conducted every year, the flagship events of this Institute are TechTatva which is a technical fest held generally in the month of October and the cultural event called Revels, which has been a part of this college for more than 4 decades. Various Celebrities visit during this fest, various cultural competitions. The Central Library is house to various types of books including fiction, fantasy and every material related to the course. All the classrooms are equipped with a smart screen, Centraly Air Conditioned, well furnished, large. There are about 90 clubs including both technical and non technical. A gymnasium which has every sport possible Boxing, squash, Badminton, Tennis, Swimming , Basketball etc.
The hostel facilities are just great. Students can choose the hostel based on their affordability, the options include, double shared rooms, single rooms, Ac/Non- Ac, Attached bathrooms or Common Bathrooms. Based on the choice the fees various from Rs 1,00,000 to 2,00,000. The fees includes caution fees and mess fees. Mess offers a great quality of food, designed according to the nutritional need of the students, menu is chaged on monthly basis. The food is very healthy but a bit bland in my opinion, there are several messes in the campus, student can cycle through almost all of the messes each month or choose to stick with one, students can explore all the messes and choose. The mess even offer Al-a-carte which basically is like a restaurant within the mess, we can order anything we would like to eat other than the mess food. The hostel rooms are well furnished including a closet, table, chair, bed. Rooms are ventilated and cleaned regularly.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.
I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
We do see companies and lot of posters inside campus of placements Cgpa with above 8 are dligible for placements here and usually 4th year students are eligible Student named abhinav choudry was offered 52LPA last year from AIML and by company called AMD And in 2020 someone got placed 45lpa from amazon 52lpa was the highest here And the average for my course is around 6-7 lpa Percentage of students getting placed is around 65-80% rest do degree or may not be placed My plan is do m tech after getting degree here
