The main reason behind choosing this college is the Name itself. Being a part of the Sinhgad Institutes, this college is famous in Pune and this will directly help you for your career as many companies come here for the placement drives. So yes, being in a reputable college like this, you will have a benefit of great placement opportunities. More reasons to choose this college, is the extra curricular activities that are being conducted inside the college. That will indirectly help you to build your career in your favourite domain. You get the advantage of adding these activities into your resume, which will highlight it from the others. The college conducts various events throughout the year, and these are the best opportunities to showcase your talent in front of a huge audience. The college infrastructure is good and provides quite good facilities. The only bad thing would be here is the large croud present, which will have the higher competition.
My course was B.E in Mechanical Engineering as it was my dream to work in some of the core domains. The faculty of this department is quite good. You will see a lot faculties having masters degree in their particular subject or domain. Few professors have done PHD too. Even the helping staff or assistants have at least a Bachelor’s degree. I would rate 7.8/10 to the teaching quality here. I gave 7.8 just because the students were not too focused in the study, and hence the professors were not giving their 100% for students like this.
No I have not opted to any Internship, but many of my friends got internships through the Campus placements, and later in the future they received a full time job opportunity in the same company. Many big companies like Emerson, Mahindra, Tata, Atlas Copco, Reliance, Mercedes Benz, Eaton came for the campus drive.
I have got a Full time Job offer in a MNC through the college placement. Glad to share that the CTC I received was in the top 3% CTCs offered to the students in the campus placement this year. Being a Mechanical Engineer you cannot expect too much in the beginning it self, but what I got was better than anyone.
Being an OBC student, but having my annual income above the limit set by Maharashtra Government, I had to pay around 1 Lakh to 1.1 Lakh per year just like the Open category. But if you are from OBC category and your annual income is below the limit, you will have to pay around 60K per year for this course. The SC ST students had to pay around 3-4K per year as fees. The NT category students were paying around 10K per year. Along with this If you are a student from the Open category and your income is less than a certain limit set by the Maharashtra Government, you will get the benefit to pay the fees same as the OBC students, i.e. around 60K. Also there are few other scholarships available for the hostellers or the students living in PG or have rented an apartment, they can get the money from Government for the rent they are paying.
Definitely the campus life is great. You will not need to worry about any single basic need near the campus, as you will get everything in the 1KM radius of the campus. All the necessary things are available like Hostels, PG, Mess, Laundry, Stationary, Fast food, Gym, Shops and many more. Talking about the college infrastructure it has all the laboratories according to your curriculum to conduct your practicals. It has a central library which is big, about of 4 floors. College has its own Cricket ground, Playground, Canteens, Gym, Hostels, Different clubs or teams in which you can participate and add something extra in your CV.
No I didn’t opted for hostel, as I was living in a rented apartment. But many of my batchmates opted for the College hostel, and according to them, the hostel facilities and quality was decent. The mess food was of decent quality. Not upto the mark but not too bad.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
