I was in Modern College of Arts Science and Commerce since my 11th Grade, i chose this college because i had heard good things about it, but when i went to the college it wasn't exactly the greatest of colleges. The crowd was poor, faculty poor, management was also not the greatest. I won't recommend this college unless you have no other option but to take admission in this college.
The Course was not the greatest as it was out dated, the course needed mugging up stuff rather than understanding the concepts which i personally didn't like. The exams are after 2-3 months interval, which includes Online and Offline. Now i am not sure if the online exams still exists because the batch i passed from was the covid batch and hence we were asked to go to college and attend the test via our mobile phones. The online and offline tests were not very difficult as long as you knew how to mug up stuff. The faculty was not good I'll be honest, they used to believe in making the students mug up instead of making them understand, although i won't blame them because the students weren't helpful either, they used to be busy mocking the faculty or busy with their phones. Most of them used to attend the lecture just for attendance sake.
No i have not, neither did any of my friends because the college did not provide us with internship opportunities. Students who were attempting for CA exams and had their internship going on were alienated because HOW DARE YOU CHOOSE CA over B.Com from the most prestigious college.
I don't think they ever called any companies for placement interviews, i don't remember any of my batchmates getting placement. The placement cell is non existent, atleast for B.Com. So the question of highest package and average package is out of question. One company that came in for placement was doing mass recruitment, so i believe the pay wouldn't be great.
Scholarships are available, i did not avail them, but the fees for Bachelor of Commerce degree is very much affordable. There used to be frequent exams so they used to charge minimal amount for that, also they used to charge for the journals which they provided. So overall a very cheap or inexpensive thing it was.
The campus life is alright i would say, the crowd although not the best. There used to be fests in mid December. The fests were okayish compared to what other colleges were conducting. The library is pretty nice. It has a good calming atmosphere and the availability of books is a Plus point. You'd get books for studying before your exams begun which was pretty useful because I don't remember actually buying any books, all i did was take the book from library, legally of course and return it once the exam is over.
The food quality was horrible. The canteen placement was shambolic, they thought it would be a good idea to keep the canteen right next to the washroom which by the way used to stink. I personally never had the guts to go have food in the canteen probably because i thought I'd get food poisoning. Hostel i honestly can't tell you because i was from Pune so i had my own house to live and even all my friends were from Pune.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.
