Remarks :

Since it is an NIT, the sole factor for admission was the JEE Main rank, given the fact that you scored above 75% in class 12th exams. The cutoff for my branch was 18.9k for HS and 16.2k for OS. The preparation for JEE Main to get here was not too tough but still required some effort.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose ECE because I wasn't too interested to get CSE and also at my rank it was the best college and best option available. The faculties here are well qualified and almost all of them have their PhD from a 1st/2nd gen IIT. The mid sems are of 30 marks and end sems are of 50 marks and 20 marks are given to TA. Exams are not too hard but scoring above 8.0+ CGPA will take some considerable effort.

Internships Opportunities :

I haven't opted as of now but the seniors told me that interns are usually less, like 30 students per batch out of ~120. The internships often convert to PPO and the median stipend is around 60k per month with the highest being 1.4 lacs and lowest being 40k.

Placement Experience :

The placement cell is very good. There are companies like Atlassian coming every year for oncampus hiring for internships and full time offers. Apart from this there are a lot of startups also visiting the campus for hiring and more than 93% of the batch is placed.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees is roughly 1.2 lacs per year without any financial assistance from college but if take financial assistance from college then it can be reduced to 30k per semester. The tuition fee is 75k per semester and 18k for mess and 15k for hostel room. There are plenty of scholarships for students with poor economic background and loan services as well from banks like SBI. The fees paid during 1st semester is roughly 1.4 lacs as it includes caution money of 10k and some other charges like library fee.

Campus Life :

We have Culfest conducted in late feb and OJASS a fortnight before it. The fests are of good level with celebrities coming to perform. Other than this there are clubs in college which conduct their events throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms have a LAN port in each of them which gives speed around 100 Mbps. The mess food is decent and we get chicken 4 times a week with chicken biryani being served on sundays. The hostels have a night canteen inside them for students use and they are also affordable.

The Real BIT Sindri Experience

Placement Experience :

Placements are the main reason people come here. For Electrical, big players like Tata Steel, JSW, and Vedanta are regulars. The average package stays around ?7–8 LPA, while the highest can go up to ?15–20 LPA for core branches. You become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. I’m planning to sit for GATE as well, as many seniors here aim for PSUs. For internships, the college helps with vocational training in places like DVC or HURL, though paid internships are something you usually have to hunt for yourself on LinkedIn.

My Dream College

Placement Experience :

College give only about 30% placement and there is very few companies or hospitals which are visited to the college for the employees. You have to do it with yourself when you are go to the internship. The highest and average package as I see is about 30,000 per month and maximum to 50,000 per month And I saw that student who top is maximum getting chance for the placement which is rare .

Life in g.p latehar

Placement Experience :

There is no campus placement in this college, so we have to plan our own jobs or internships after completing the course. Eligibility criteria for jobs depends on companies, mostly they ask for basic knowledge and skills related to the course. Some students do internships on their own in local companies or online. Since there is no official placement, there are no recruiters, packages or offers from college. Around 0% students get placement from college itself. My plan after degree is to prepare for government jobs and also apply for some private jobs related to my field. Overall, college is good for learning, but for placements you have to work on your own

The life of DeC dumka

Placement Experience :

"Placements in my college are slowly improving but still not at the level of top engineering colleges. Some companies visit every year but the number of offers is limited. Students who have good skills and prepare on their own get opportunities easily. The eligibility for sitting in placements is usually 6.0 CGPA and no major backlogs. Recruiters like small IT companies, training firms and a few core-related companies have visited. The highest package was around 6–7 LPA and the average stays near 3 LPA depending on the branch. Around 25–35% students get placed from campus and others go for off-campus drives. Internships are mostly arranged by students themselves through online platforms. After completing my degree, I plan to prepare for off-campus jobs and also improve my technical skills to get a better job in company or in government job
