Review on the National Institute of technology North campus Mysore

- The college has very special classrooms and well maintained labs
- The campus life is very good with very clubs and sports involved

- The college is located in the outskirts of the city and its very far from a city
- The college is not surrounded by very much of trees and is very hot during this
- The bus timings very for various batches and causes inconvenience during some time
Remarks :
I got 6082 rank in kcet which is pretty good. I wanted to study to Mysore itself. There are only two good colleges in Mysore, SJCE and NIE , i didn't get SJCE by 200 rank difference so I joined NIE. AIML was the new branch and is said to have great scope in future. So I opted for AIML instead of CSE . The college has a very big name and respect in Mysore. It has great placement and internships opportunities. Although the north campus has been acquired by NIE just 3 years ago. All the IT branches are shifted to North campus . The north campus was previously a different college called NIEIT which is no more exisiting. The north campus also has MCA along with BTech. I prepared for kcet fron akash Byju's. I got cse in the first round but I changed to AIML and joined the college in the 2nd round.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I said earlier in joined AIML for its future scope and advantages. Also AIML is more interesting than CSE. The AIML department does not exist seperately for now. It is a co branch along with cse and is handled the office of CSE. For now there is only one lecturer who is appointed specially for AIML . The lecturers are are well versed in their fields and have good teaching experience. Most of them have worked in the field before opting for teaching. Some teachers also have phds . There are two internals. One semester exam and 2 quizzes for more than single credit subjects and just 3 quizzes for single credit subjects Usually the sem lasts 4 months. And the first internal is at end of 1st month the second at the mid of 3rd month. And the semester end exams at the end of 4th month. The exams are moderate to tough but can also be easy. Some lecturers are liberal and give some good marks. but they are very strict when it comes to lab exams.
Internships Opportunities :
The college provide internship and placement opportunities throughout the course the students will have to do some compulsory courses on course and other course providers the college also provide compulsory internships and still lab for the students after the end of every stem there is some courses that the students will have to do in order to get the certificate. The placement cells also keep sending various emails through which the students can register for internships and hackathons. I have personal not operate for any internship currently but I have done various courses from Coursera and also cyberverse. And also did a small project in skill lab.
Placement Experience :
Nie offers a very good placement in I assures 100% placement for all the students who clear the course without any backlogs the course also offers many internship and placement opportunities throughout course like the students can also get placed in second year on also in the third year. The companies which visit the most for a recruitments are Infosys, JP Morgan schneider electronics etc. Last year I M l branch had its first placement and had the highest placement of 23 lakhs the highest package for nie 67 lakhs which is for the iic branch the average packages 900000 per annum. And I had 100% placements for all the students who clear the course without any backlogs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee during the admission is 1,10,000 for kcet students. The second year fees is 1,02,624 which will remain same throughout the course. There is no external college fees or exam fees other than this. The hostel fees is around 1 lakh and the bus fees is 24 thousand for the longest route and varies for smaller routes. The hostel students from south campus need to pay the bus fees to avail the transportation to North campus. The fees might be low for SC/ ST students and students can also get SSP scholarship for the fees.
Campus Life :
The even semester have the main fest called Minerva. It happens during February or March. The fest is not too extravagant compared to other colleges but is enjoyable. There are also some branch fests which happen throughout the year. The college doesn't provide money to organise events and also charge sme fee if the students are organising some events There are libraries in both north campus and south campus . The south campus library is one of the biggest libraries in Mysore. The north campus also has a big library. The library has all the text books and the concept books. Classroom are spacious and have fans and projectors. The lab have many systems and well maintained. NIE has good importance for sports. attendance will be pThere are many events and also inter branch, inter institutional as well as inter college sports tournaments. For sports like cricket, kabbadi, volleyball, throw ball, badminton, tennis and kho kho. There are many student clubs like IEEE, GDSC , onyx etc
Hostel Facilities :
I have not opted for hostel. But I have tasted the hostel food and visited the hostel. The food is mainly Mysore cuisine. The break fast varies everyday . The afternoon meal has chappatti, rice bath and rice sambar it same for dinner also. The hostel is 3 person shared. The north campus has many PGs around which are like 2-3 km around. The students can register to hostel when they join. The North campus has very few rooms and is already occupied by the seniors so the juniors who joined a college will have to join the South campus hostel or PGs. The students who join the South campus hostel will also have to pay the college bus fee to avail the transportation to North campus.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

Eligibility for the placements is 7+ cgpa if you have higher cgpa higher the chances of you getting shortlisted for the interview and it will be easy for you Recuriters visited Cisco,Visa,Emerson,NetApp and many more for the internships and full time Highest package is 56 LPA and average package will be around 10 LPA for the computer science and Engineering for other branches it may vary
