There are three ways to gain admission to this college: KCET exam, COMEDK exam, and management quota. KCET is for Karnataka students, and COMEDK is for non-Karnataka students. I wrote COMEDK. This college is among the top five engineering colleges in Karnataka and is one of the oldest, established in 1946.
The faculty are very supportive in this college and have extensive knowledge and experience. Our college is VTU-affiliated but autonomous; therefore, exams consist of two continuous internal assessments, a semester-end exam, and lab tests. Basically, we have six exams per year.
I am a fresher, so I have not yet applied for any internships. However, opportunities are available; if you have the skills, you will definitely get one. The college placement cell regularly informs students about opportunities and is very supportive and the most active cell in the college.
Our college have a good alumni network because this is the oldest one in karnataka and have a good reputation. So placements are very good in this college the famous one the chairman of the infosys are also from our college and they provides many opportunities to students which helps in to get internship and placements also . The highest package of our college is 46.5 LPA and the average package is 10LPA but if you see the average of only cse related branches than it is 13 LPA . The good companies are come in our college like jp Morgan, Mercedes Benz, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, TCS, Accenture, GE Digital, CISCO, Intuit, D.E. Shaw, SAP Labs and Bharat Electronics. Last year total eligible students for placements are 807 and 780 offers made , 518 students offer accepted. This is the placement opportunities in this college.
In this college, there are three ways to gain admission, and the fee structure varies depending on your admission method. In my case, I was admitted through the COMEDK exam, and my fee structure is ?281,000 per year for academics only; this does not include hostel fees. During admission, I also submitted ?23,100 for labs and extracurricular activities—a one-time fee. The second admission option is the KCET exam, available only to Karnataka students; COMEDK is for non-Karnataka students. For KCET students, the academic fee is approximately ?100,000 per year, plus ?23,100 for labs, also a one-time fee. The third option is the management quota. This requires an additional payment of ?16,00,000 for Computer Science and ?12,00,000 for Information Science, with the remaining fees the same as for COMEDK students. Therefore, the total cost for management quota students is approximately ?3000000 for four years. This is the fee structure for my college The National Institute of Engineering.
Talking about my campus, this is one factor that makes me unhappy: the campus is divided into two parts, NIE North and NIE South. All computer science-related branches are in the north campus, where I am. The north campus area is 25 acres, which is not very large, but it's okay. The infrastructure is good, and this year our college received funding of around 450-500 crore. In the next five years, this college will be booming. It has a good library with most books available. Fests are happening in a month; major ones include Techniqes, Vibrance, and Arise. Sports are conducted regularly—this is the best thing. Last week, our college hosted the Smart India Hackathon, in which many students from other colleges participated and had a conference call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
I am not a hosteller, but I stayed in a PG near my college. I can inform you that the hostel is the best in our college because many of my friends stayed there. The mess food is good and worthwhile. The college is in the south, but they maintain food variety; they provide both South Indian and North Indian food, and the quality is also good. Rooms are limited compared to the number of students; that is why I am not in the hostel. But if you are coming for admission, make sure to come early to secure a hostel room, because hostel life is one of the best parts of life.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
