- Infrastructure, the infrastructure could is not taken care of properly, even if there are facilities available, they are not maintained
- Faculty, the faculty could be a lot better with permanent staff and people actually interested in teaching.
Remarks :
I chose GLC because I did not get into any NLU and didn't crack CLAT. GLC is the oldest law college in the the entire continent of Asia and enjoys a great reputation throughout the country. GLC also has an amazing Alumini base that helps out a lot. Most top lawyers, advocates, judges etc are alumni of GLC including Fali Nariman, Nani Palkhiwala, DY Chandrachud etc. The admission at GLC is done by MHCET Law exam which is conducted by Maharashtra government. MHCET is comparatively a very easy exam and can be cracked with decent preparation. Written exam is the only criteria for admission and there is no interview round. The cutoffs can be pretty tough for GLC as it is the most sought after college through the MHCET exam. I secured 115/150 and was AIR 70. The cut off in 2023 was 112 marks for general category.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am pursing BLS LLB which is an integrated course of bachelors in Legal Studies and bachelor in law (LLB). The course has recently been renamed BA LLB without any change in the curriculum. The curriculum is fairly easy to get through and not rigorous at all. It is also a bit outdated and needs change in my opinion. While most NLUs introduce law subjects in their first year itself, Mumbai university curriculum introduces law subjects in 3rd year which is a major setback considering that most students start interning early and need the legal understanding and knowledge to proceed and excel at work. There are ten semesters in 5 years, which is 2 semesters per year with a 75/25 mark pattern, which means that there is a 75 marks written exam along with 25 marks internal exam. The written exam is fairly simple with previous years question papers available, one can easily pass. Internal exams consists of class test and assignments which are simple too.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done two internships until now, one at Nagpur bench of Bombay highcourt and one in Bombay itself. Both my internships have been amazing learning experiences. Both these internships have been litigation and I haven't done a corporate internship.
Placement Experience :
GLC has a robust placement committee run by students itself and overseen by professors. Even internships are made available by the placement cell itself. I've done one internship through the placement committee. I'm still in my early years so I'm not sure about campus placements but all tier one law firms visit GLC as a lot of GLC alumni are working at these law firms. the highest package I know of is 24 lakhs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I paid a total fee of 1,200 for my entire first year. The college fee is already subsidized as it is a government college but for it is even more subsidized for those belonging to reserved categories including OBC, SC/ST etc. College fee for students belonging to General Category is 7000 rupees per annum. GLC has two different types of fee structures, one is government subsidized and other is non-subsidizied. Students belonging to the the non-subsidizied fee structure pay a lot more than others which is 13,000 rupees. Out of the total 240 seats in the batch, 180 seats are subsidized and 60 are non-subsidizied. Other than the above mentioned tuition fee, there is only an exam fee at the time of semester exams which is 1200 rupees for 3 subjects or 400 for each subject. There are almost no other fees collected from students other than the ones mentioned above.
Campus Life :
The campus is at a very prime location at churchgate and very close to the Bombay Highcourt which is amazing. The building is modest but has most facilities available for a law college, including an auditorium, canteen, library etc. There are no ACs in the classrooms so it can get pretty hot during the summers. The library is recently renovated and has all the material needed for studies, from old books to law journals etc. There is little scope for sports at GLC as there is no ground but there is a sports committee that handles the sports events. There is an annual college fest called Zankaar held in the month of March, this fest is a lot of fun. Other than cultural fest, there are a number of college committees like The moot court association, the debating society, the MUN society, etc. These committees conduct competitions and activities throughout the year to keep the students engaged.
Hostel Facilities :
GLC doesn't have a hostel of its own and mpst student either stay at Pgs or rent flats. There is a Mumbai University hostel right on the next lane as the college but it's pretty hard to get into. The admission in the MU college is based on parent's annual income and due to lack of seats, it's really tough to get into the hostel. I had applied too, but I did not get in. To apply, you need to go to the joint director of higher education website and apply at the beginning of each semester. since I do not live at the hostel, I cannot speak about the food and menu there. I currently live at Marine Lines which is the next station from Churchgate and is a 15 min walk from college.

Placement Offers were Good on Records till now Collage has its own Placement Department. The Placement Department is operated by professionals. It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.
The Time I Had Spent in my College

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. Internship was also provided by college to give students practical experience and knowledge about current changing environment.

i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.
An industry focused learning experience
Placement Experience :
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat
Placement Experience :
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.
