No I didn't faced any interview or tests for admission in this college. But generally the cut-off for admission in this college is high. I decided to take admission in this college as it is one of the best colleges of pune and is very well reputed college and stands so
The course I'm taking (that is ba marathi) aligns with my future plans and that's the reason I opted for this course. Talking about the faculty it's the best faculty except one or two teachers of my department. Otherwise my department faculty is very nice . Even the god knows everyone personally and guides us personally. Not just my department all the other departments' faculties are even appreciable, kind , helpful, hold sensitive approach for our problems and very educated and experienced. They have immense knowledge of practical terms tooo.
Generally there are no on campus placements. But yes our faculty and the other ngos guide us with future opportunities which we can take up. Even the faculty introduce us to various organisations or famous personalities of our field . Because the faculties know many of them , had worked with or either taught them as a teacher before.
So basically if you want to do a course in bachelor of arts the fees structure is generally around 10000 per year. No additional charges are taken for any other facility in this course as it is a government college. Also students are expected to fill scholarship forms and the scholarship amount is transferred by the government directly in their bank account .
The fest of our college are the bestest in pune . They are generally in December months . Every department is given a special name and every department comes up with innovative ideas and fun time. The days are namely saree and tie day , traditional day , departmental fest, etc . Also there are two days devoted to spandan . In these two days students participate and perform various cultural performances in The amphitheatre which is very well known stage as many great artists have performed there. So basically our college fest is just littt. Can't express in words if you want to know more you can see the reels of our college fest on Instagram (Fergusson diaries). Campus is big. Have very big sports ground and there are sports groups and coaches. The college is known for its extra curricular activities. 80 % of it is about extra curricular activities like Nss, soec , ncc, yoga, and various other unofficial activities.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
