This is the only national Institute of technology(NIT) in Maharashtra. Reputed alumni network and better future prospects were some of the factors. In order to get into vnit one must pass the joint entrance exam(jee) , minimum percentile for general candidates to get into is 96 percentile.
There are a total of 8 semesters which are to be completed in 4 yrs. Each semester has a mid sem and endsem. Each semester is of 4 months. For the first year subjects like engg. Drawing, engg. Mechanics , mathematics, physics, chemistry, social sciences are taught. For engg. Mechanics we had prof dr. M. D. Goel sir he did his mtech from iit bombay and phd from iit delhi. Generally most of faculties have either done their mtech Or phd from top iit's.
For 1st sem I paid a total of 85000 out of which 63000 was tution fee and rest was caution money and deposit. For second semester I paid 67000 . Hostel and mess fess is not included in here. For financially weaker students college provides fee remission, as follows for income less than 1 lakh annually tution fee is zero. For less than 5 lakh annual income 67% fee waiver. For sc/st students tution fee is zero.
Total campus area of 214 acres is been nicely utilised by college authorities. It's a lush green campus. The cultural fest named 'AAROHI' is conducted every year in the month of November. Also the fifth largest techfest of india named AXIS is conducted in VNIT. College has basketball court, badminton complex, cricket ground, football ground, handball ground, volleyball court, etc sport. I have seen sports facilities of many nits but VNIT has the best of sports facilities
There are a total of 10 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel inside the campus. Hostel fee is quite affordable as the hostel fee for each semester is just 6000.Mess fee for each semester is 20,000.Quality and cleanliness of the mess is commendable. The taste is also decent.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.
there are lots of mnc company visted college every year, most of companies have there eligiblity criteria is 60% and above overall from 10th, the biggest tech companies like tcs, wipro, accenture, deloitte, infosys, the average package is around 3lpa, every year 50 to 70% students getting placed.
The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
The placement and job opportunities in college is good the MOU's signed by company are good almost 40-50% of college gets placement remaining go for off campus placements there are companies like TCS , Accenture etc
