- There are some development of infrastructure of our college is going on such as a 8 floor Library which will be finished in the year of 2026 and a mining engineering separated block which is very huge about 7 floor and for mtec degree the college is being prepared and to be finished about 2030.
- Faculties are friendly and helpful , they always supports us in our difficulties 🙂.
Dislikes
- Mainly the college infrastructure is not so much developed as compared to other engineering colleges.
- Many corruption in the colleges due to which the can't to headlines and many people don't know about this college.
Remarks :
Government College of Engineering, keonjhar which was formerly known as the Odisha School of mining engineering degree stream, keonjhar is famous for its mining engineering course in Odisha, which is the best stream in this college. For admission to this college, you should have to qualify jee main or ojee examination. For Jee, the cut-off is 70 percentile.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As mining engineering is the best course in this college I chose it in Odisha, there are only two government engineering colleges which are located in Keonjhar and Kalahandi. As I am from Jaipur which is a mining and industrial area, mining engineering is the best scope for us to get placed. The minimum qualification for the faculties should be mtec in the subjects which they should teach us. There are 8-semester examinations which are to be done every 4,5 months of intervals and 16 internals to be done, where each semester includes two internals. Your tuition fee may be 29000/year for every stream.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, there is a scholarship section in college where you can get information about scholarships and apply for them the popular scholarship that most of the students apply for is state scholarship and other company scholarships. Our college provides internship durations for the student's internship.
Placement Experience :
Our college has a good placement history as it is a government institution so many companies came here as it is a cheating-free campus and students are more active in their studies. In our college, many companies such as Adani, Vedanta, imfa, Tata, Aditya Birla, Rungta Steels, idfco, coal India, etc.. came for placements. The average package is 7 lakh/annum. Mining engineering has a high placement history and the topmost package is 16 lakh/annum in Vedanta. Which was done last year. For placements, the criteria are you should not have any backlog, above 8 cgpa and your 10th and 12th mark should be greater than 70 percent. After the degree, I should do my mtech in mining engineering at IIT Dhanbad.
Campus Life :
Our campus is nature-friendly as it is located near the hills and mountains, you should get fresh natural air for good mental health and environment. Each year we have an annual fest called utkarsh which is done in April, and different branches have their fests. Our college has different clubs such as dance club, robotics club, and photography club etc. Our college students also participated in many state athletics programs. hostels are ragging-free, for first-year students there are separated hostels, and for 2nd,3rd, and 4th yr students have attached hostels. But girls and boys have separated hostel.

There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.

for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.

Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.

It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.

Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.

Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .

Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
