Life at Nit Hamirpur
Remarks :
When i was in my 11th and 12th in heard many people talking about this college. I was fascinated from their talks and have to go and search about this college. When i come to know about this college and i made my decision to join this college. I found the infrastructure of this college fascinating, facilities they provide . It also has a very good ground to play cricket .There are volleyball courts , basketball courts and also it has lawn tennis courts. There is also indoor facilities for games like Kabaddi, table tennis , badminton.One bad aspect about this is connectivity. Like there is a airport but it takes 4 hours to reach , and 3 hours to reach railway station. But it has public transport facility like buses and cabs. To get admission in this college one has to fill the JEE-MAIN exam and also has to qualify the exam. There is no group discussion or interview rounds. one has to qualify exam only. The cut off to qualify the JEE-MAIN exam depend on the category of the individual.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because of my interest in Physics. As this course Focuses on the core physics that is used in the present time.And also apart from physics this course also focuses on subjects like Data Structures and Algorithms, Machine learning, Artificial intelligence subjects that can make a student to work in the industry. The basic requirement of qualification of faculty is P.hd in their specific subject and apart from this many teachers have also done their Post - Doctorate. Facilities are good in teaching their own subjects in which they have expertise. The teaching method of faculty is generally good . They teach everything in detail and easy that every student can understand. They are also helpful in solving doubts of the students. In each semester we have our exams two times . One is mid semester examination after 2 months after the college has been started and other is End term examination at the end of each semester. Difficult level of the exams are easy to moderate.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tution fee depends if you category certificate Sc/St then tution fee will be ?20600 per semester, then we have income certificate if anyone have annual income between ?1 lakh per annum and ?5 lakh per annum then individual have to pay ?41433 per semester and if any individual having annual income less than ? 1 lakh per annum then he/she have to pay ?20600 per semester. Every fee like caution fees , registration fees, admission fees , development fee and other completion charges are included in it. And other than that we have hostel fee and anyone wants to opt hostel have to pay 40k in the odd semester and 30k in the even semester. And there are many scholarship available in the institute. Like if anyone wants to have scholarship then he/she have to fill the form in national scholarship portal. And the scholarship amount varries from state to state. There are many scholarship available in National Scholarship Portal it shows the scholarship you are eligible, it also depends on category.
Campus Life :
Life at campus is very good. There are different places in our campus where people enjoy. One of the most beautiful place is Open Air Theatre where people sit and enjoy the view. And about fest we have Hillffair which happens in the month of October or November in the odd semester and other is Nimbus which is a technical fest ,which happens around March or April. Regarding availability of books and journals in the library almost all the books which are required available there. And in the classroom we have smart boards , projectors which are mostly used to teach. Regarding sports and extracurricular activities we have Cricket, Badminton, Kabaddi, table tennis, lawn tennis, volleyball and basketball. There are different clubs and societies which are run by students like in my department we have Team-Abraxas which is a departmental club and Physteo departmental society. There are other clubs and societies that every department have. Students can join club, society by giving interviews.
Hostel Facilities :
Anyone can opt hostel when the registration process happens we get room by the authority and every year hostel changes . Every year we have to do the same process if we want to opt hostel. Regarding the food quality, the food quality is descent and on some special occasion we have different food. And menu of the food is decided by the committee of the students. Affordability of the hostel is decent like you have to pay around ?40k in the odd semester and ?30k in the even semester. And if you want to rent a room or PG , there is location just outside the college where people rent rooms and PG regarding their choices.

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs
