Honest review of BIT Durg by a student
Likes
- Overall infrastructure is good and clean. There are different outlets in the canteen area, one can get different foods. Plus it also has an cafe, in case you need a cup of coffee!
- Facilities are nice and helpful with few exceptions.
Dislikes
- I don't really like the campus life here, it's boring, nothing interesting happens here.
- Some faculties are super mean, They scold you for small things.
Remarks :
This is a reputed college in Chhattisgarh. One can get into it by giving either JEE Mains or CGPET. Cut-off for JEE Mains isn't really high here, 75 percentile can easily land you here with computer science branch. I don't really know much about the JEE Mains cut-off. I got here by qualifying CGPET.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The reason why I chose this curriculum is because I've a keen interest in computer programming. The exams aren't really hard if you know the basics and the curriculum. The Faculties are well educated but low-key outdated. Speaking of curriculum, I feel like the curriculum is super outdated and needs to be changed.
Internships Opportunities :
The college doesn't help in securing any internship, you'll have to work your way around. For internship, I would suggest you sign up in Internshala and based on your skills, apply to different internships available out there.
Placement Experience :
The average package in computer science isn't much here, it's around 3-4 lakh per annum, and that too in metropolitan cities. I'd suggest rather go for off-campus placement by studying well. The competition is really high for the placement here. And the most companies that come here are mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys, etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees is paid semester wise, almost each semester the fees is around 39k, the fees is supposed to be decreasing but it doesn't. The only exception is in the final semester, which is around 36k. It would be really nice if they decrease fees each semester. They do provide scholarship on the basis of category and ranking in class.
Campus Life :
They don't really organize much fest, the only fest that I saw during my whole academics here was Ojas 2024. There are a lot of clubs in the institute, one can easily join them. College campus has several grounds where one can play different sport, I like the badminton court, it's well maintained.

I choose Mechanical Engineering as my course here, as i am interested in Automotive, and also this institute is near my home town. There are permanent faculty members present in institute. There is not much placement opportunities for the students of biotechnology compared to the students of b.tech. basically the placement is based on a merit list so not All students are benefited with this kind of placements only the students who wear like gold medalist where awarded this placement. According to Nirf reports 2023 , 13 ug(3, yr), 123 uh(4yr),1ug (5 yr) ,115pg (2yrs) and 38pg(3yr) students are placed and median package offered is INR 4 lpa, inr 3 lpa, int 4 lpa, inr 3 lpa and inr 2.45 lpa .

Placement Experience :
Placenta for whole college is going on good not ver best coz of recession but yeah core branches placements are nice specially metallurgy and chemical branch . our branch average package previous year is 8.7 lac and for this year it is 8.3 lack almost all are placed. For cse and IT branch placement is not going well as I said before due to recession . over all.avg pckg of nit raipur is 9.5 lac gor all branch.

If you are from top branches like CSE, IT then you'll numbers of internship oppurtinities but for lower branches the intership oppurtinities are less. Mostly all the student get placed through campus placement but someone left the can try offcampus oppurtinities.

Rungta collage have a good numbers of companies in there list , and most of them visited every year for placements , almost 90% + students got placed every year and the average salary offered is 4 LPA.

From the 5th semester students become eligible for internship and from starting of 4th year companies start on campus recruitment process . Top companies visited Nit Raipur for placements are Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Samsung, Arcisium, Phonepe etc. Highest package offered was 55 lacs per annum. and for IT branch Average package was 18.11 lacs per annum.
