- For first year, the college building is just in front of the hostel which makes it very easy. The mess is also near.
- The faculties are all very well educated. They have a lot of practical knowledge which is crucial for the future. They also work in hospitals and treat patients which gives them a lot of knowledge and information about the ongoing medical therapies. They also participate in researches.
Dislikes
- The campus life is pretty basic in the Mangalore campus. There are not many events held in the odd semester.
- The campuses are distributed all over Mangalore. You have to travel for different classes in 2-3 places after 1st year.
Remarks :
It was ranked as one of the topmost colleges for medical. It is ranked 1st for physiotherapy in outlook. There were different phases for admission. They took admission tests. There were no interviews online or offline. Test was for reasoning, science.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The clinical practice starts from the fourth semester. All faculties have attained Masters in Physiotherapy and a lot of them have a Phd. They are very educated and have a lot of practical knowledge. Every semester have 2 sessional exams (in between semesters) and 1 sem end exam. Like if the Semester started in August. There will be one exam in September, one in October end and then semester end exams in December. And then from January, the next semester starts. The exams are not that hard. the passing percentage is around 40-50%
Internships Opportunities :
The course includes 6 months of internship. It is a paid internship. The duration is for 6 months. Students are posted in different hospitals for increasing knowledge. The postings are scheduled beforehand. They are posted in different departments throughout. Research is also done. Students are also taken to camps for treating patients during their internships.
Placement Experience :
6 months paid internship takes place at the end of the course. Campus placements are not offered here. The percentage of students getting placements after doing BPT is pretty high. My plan is to get a Masters degree in Physiotherapy after completing my Bachelors from Kasturba Medical College. After which i may work under someone and then hopefully open my own clinic someday.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For bachelors of physiotherapy (BPT) the fee structure is 2,66,000 per year. This is the tuition fees. It is mandatory to stay in hostel for the first year. The hostel fees for 1 year is 1,26,000. This includes the hostel mess, accommodation and everything. The caution fees was taken at the start which is a sum of 10,000 rupees. The other fees is 72,000. The total fees for one year is 3,04,000 for BPT. Total course fees for 4.5 years is 11,86,000. We also have courses such as MBBS, BASLP, CVT, MIT, RT. (UG) Total Course fees for the following courses: BASLP- 8,92,000 CVT- 9,34,000 MIT- 6,79,000 Radiotherapy Technology- 5,56,000 Respiratory Therapy- 7,81,000 MBBS- 64,45,000 Reliance scholarships are available for 1st years UG. A lot of other scholarships like Kalam Pai, AGE scholarships, SAGES, Merit scholarships for different courses are available.
Campus Life :
Most fests are held in the even semesters every year.UTSAV is held in even sem. In this intra collegiate competitions are held first. This includes eastern and western dance and vocals (group and solo), fashion show, cultural parade, and much more. Then inter college competitions are held in Manipal where more than 25-30 colleges participate.
Hostel Facilities :
It is compulsory for first year to stay in the hostel. After that it is your choice. The hostel for BPT first year is in Bejai. The hostel rooms has 2 people occupancy. They are pretty big. Every student is provided with a single bed, an almirah, a study table and a chair, a rack for keeping books. There are ac rooms and non-ac rooms. The ac rooms cost around 10,000- 15,000 more than the non ac rooms. The availability for ac rooms is on first cum first serve basis. After the admission, you can come 2-3 days before the starting date and apply for the hostel and get the room. Fees is around 1,26,00 for non ac rooms. The mess food provides breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Sundays are for special lunch. Every month end on wednesdays special dinner is served. The quality is fine.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
