- I don't hate anything about college but one things that I feel bad is unavailabiloty of classrooms for students as too many students took admission this year
Remarks :
I chosed Tihu college because it was the only college my buget could afford. And also availability of vehicles at right time made easy to go for classes. On the other hand Tihu college ,Tihu is vert Good for students like us from middle class. Admission process was based on merit list. Students below 3 lakh annual income got free admission without tuition fees and bellw 5lakh got free admission but an amount of 4000 per year has to be paid as a fees. And students with 5 lakh annual income got paid admission .
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chosed B.sc in Zoology because I liked zoology in my 12th so wanted to have more knowledege furthur . Faculties are all well educated many with Phd and more ,Teaching methods are good according to me. Term exams were conducted within two month and final exam on last month of semester.Exams are quiet difficult but If one keeps working smoothly student easily will pass exams.
Internships Opportunities :
No internship opportunities given in our college. Students have to complete bachelors in order to get any job and also can opt for Masters if interested College also provide masters degree for arts but for masters in science one should go to other college
Placement Experience :
College don't provode placements to students but one can oppt tl apply for government job through interview after qualifying Degree. Students can apply for various government jobs after Degree like UPSC,APSC etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Even if it is Government college We have to pay 4000 for a year which includes library and exam fees also registration is included for semester exams. Some of our classmates whose annual family income is more than 5lakh they pay 8000 per year. College helps us getting scholarships from government only for reservation caste and General category do not get scholarship unless one secure 95 perscentage.
Campus Life :
Life in Tihu college, Tihu is wonderful .Surrounded with beautiful trees canteens hostels with less crowd it becomes easy to attend class. Fest like ffreshers , farwell teacher day etc were conducted with due date. College not only focus on quality of education but also sports and extra curriculim activity. Studenst run social groupd with teachers help for women's safety and zero tolerance over ragging.
Hostel Facilities :
I didn't opt for hostels because I go from home by public bus. To apply for hostel rooms one have to go to office and take admkssion in hostel with 10000 admission fees and 1800 monthly fees. I don't have personal experience on Food quality in hostel but in canteen is superb with healthy foods like vegetable scoup, salad also fast food like samosa are sold

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
