- College infrastructure is well maintained, all the buildings, computer department, admin block , hostels ,lecture hall all are well maintained and equipped with latest facilties and updated to present tech.
- The campus of nit hamirpur is very beautiful, in presence of white snow capped dhauladhars range and also the campus is well located with greenery all around, and beautiful spots to enjoy natural beauty.
Dislikes
- No fruits,vegetable shop inside the campus
- No night life after 10pm in the campus. Cannot roam in the campus after 10pm and only can study in library reading room upto 12am midnight.
Remarks :
I got this college by cracking jee mains , the process is by going through josaa alootment after jee mains. Cutoff for general was around 86 percentile at that time , and for electronics branch at nit hamirpur the required percentile for general category is around 95. I prepared for jee during 11th-12th, completed my school syllabus and referred some known books like rd sharma ,hc verma and mc graw hill publications and rest through content available on youtube.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because my interest in ohysics peaked during 11th-12th so i wanted to pursue btech in electronics and the course is interesting as of now , I am in my 6th semester and I enjoy exploring my field more in deep. I have even thought of continuing with higher studies after btech. Faculty is very qualified ,almost all of them have completed their btech,mtech and phd form different IIT's and NIT's and have much prior experience in teaching. Most teachers keep the lecture very interesting and in classrooms we are taught whiteboard or digital pen display board Exams are conducted 2 times in a year that is 4 times in a year, out of which 2 are midsems i.e between each semester of 30 marks each and 2 are end sems conducted at end of each semester so making total of 4 exams per year. End sems are of 50 marks each, midsems are kept difficult than end sems. And the final cgpa is based on 30(midsem)+50(endsem)+20(internal) Total of 100 marks
Internships Opportunities :
No , internships are mainly done after third year. Many companies visit for internship offers and by taking LOR from respected teachers we can also apply at various IIT's according to the requirements.
Placement Experience :
Placement percemtage is great here , especially B.arch and mechanical branch btech, they achieved 100% placement last year 2024, Also skme students acheive high packages of crores in IT branch and of 30-40lpa in core branches. Mean packages are around 10-12lpa. Eligibilty criteria depends on the coming companies which ks mostly based on cgpa around 6.5 above for some companies and mostly above 7.5 or 8. Most students are placed in the starting of final year and rest follwed by them in upcoming last smester , and those interested in higher studies opt for gate exam and uptil now many students have scored among top 50 AIR and even top 10 AIR.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee structure : Tution fee : General. - 76250 per semester Ews(under 5lpa) - 48500 per semester Sc/st/ews (<1lpa)- 14500 per semester Other fee like lab development etc are all included and only extra 10k above these is paid for the first time as security and other charges.
Campus Life :
Campus life at nit hamirpur is one of the best as it is a very beautiful campus. Our college conducts 2 fests one in each semster, one is a cultural fest named hillffair conducted in october and the other is a technical fest called nimbus which is conducted during month of march. Library is very well maintained, almost all type of books are available and the ones required for the curriculum are available in high quantity, i never bought any from outside, just issue through library and the issuing process is also hassel free. Social club life is also very engaging and gives you the exposure to college life, there are all tyle of different clubs for diffirent type of hobbies be it photography,art,public relations,gaming,technical field etc. eveything and they are properly funded by the college. Sports life is also very good here , students faculty all indulge in sport activities , inter year competitions , inter branch, inter nit , students vs faculty etc. Overall life is great.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel rooms are pretty nice and at very affordable prices for just 10k per year with extra mess fee which is around 40k per year but the mess food is good , properly maintained. Mostly the mess food which one can hate will be during dinner time, rest breakfast and lunch is really nice. Registration of hostel is easy just fee submission online at sbi collect and rest each year new hostel is alloted based on previous year cgpa.

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs
