Main reason to select SICSR was to get away from home and explore. Live life individually. Symbiosis has a big name for itself as well. But the campus of SICSR particularly is not good. Just a single building which runs at full capacity almost all the hours which makes the place very crammed. You need to give a SET(Symbiosis Entrance Test) Exam to get into the college. the cutoff is really low so anything over 80 PERCENTILE guarantees you a spot. There is also and interview asking about your knowledge and other extra activities. Easy preperation for the SET test as it isn't that difficult. After getting into the college, theres alot of paperwork to be filed in very specific orders and formats. It gets a little confusing but not very bad.
BCA is an interesting course. The course curriculum is a little boring as it goes over the basics of every small thing and gets a little repetitive. But, that might just be me. Faculty is mostly good but some professors could get better.
I have not opted for internships yet but there are PLENTY of opportunities for internships with-in and outside of college. Internships relating or not to your course are available everywhere. Stipend depends on the internship.
I don't have much knowledge on the placements. I've overheard alot of seniors talking about extremely poor placements. Not many campus placements available. Highest package was offered in 2021 by Deloitte of rs26,00,000. Average package is 4,00,000. I personally am not going to apply for college placements.
The current fees is rs2,06,000 per year (for Indian students. Varies for international and NRIs). There can be an increase in fees every year of upto 12% for the first 3 years of BCA. To attend the 4th year( Hons.) there is a ?30,000 increase in annual fees
No room for extra curricular activities. As the campus is already really small, there are no events that take place. No creative clubs exist. This makes college life boring and repetitive. No free parking for students either as it is a rented building. The other campuses of symbiosis are FAR better than ours. Decent availablity of books in library (mostly course related books). Classrooms are small and crammed full of people. No clubs, Sports, Websites etc. Of someone wants to participate in an extracurricular activity, He/She needs to apply for them in other colleges. There are also no computer labs in the college. Being an computer science branch, this is a bad thing. There are computer labs but not even a single computer works in there.
I haven't opted for college hostel as they ran out of availability very quickly. The hostel isn't even in the same building or campus. It's 3 to 4 kms away from the college in a different symbiosis campus. However, There are alot of nearby third party hostels as well as flats for bachelors available.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.
