Fergusson College was my first priority due to its eduactional reputation in my region . The admission process was easy. The website provided with enough information about admission, but the contact with the officials in the offices was very unpleasant as their work was not only slow but also unreachable at most times. The admission was on the basis of merit in 12th class percentage and there was no interview or GD as such.
1. Preparing for UPSC was my first goal so Political Science Course was my obvious choice. 2. Qualification of the faculty is nice but their teaching methods need serious rebuilding. There methods are mostly outdated and does not help in providing solution to the new generation issues. 3. Even though the staff was not at par with the name but the course curriculum was fantastic. It was designed in keeping a competitive exam in mind which helped a lot. 4. The exams were often timely with a total of 6SEM. often conducted in the months of Nov- Dec and April- May. The difficulty level was moderate.
No, I have not but I have completed Certificate Course in Women and gender studies which will help me in building good foundation for my future studies in my specialisation. The course was offered under university under which Fc falls.
There were very few to no internship oppurtunities for my course in Political Science yet the college offered many certificate courses in diiferent field. Some of the famous ones were certificat course in women and gender studies, internatiuonal relations or working under ministry responsible for parliamentary proceedings.

The campus of Fergusson College is quite famous. It is culture of amalgamation and liveliness. Every year the cultural fest named "Spandan" happens at the end or start of year that also includes departmental fests and cultural performances. It happens for approximately 5 days. 'BAI JERBAI LIBRARY' of FC is hub to huge amount of books and journals although they need to be updated with current world. Range of Intercollegiate and intracollegiate sports activities occur with students led organization like SAATHI ( group for helping specially abled students of FC),NSS( National Service Scheme), etc.
No I have not opted for hostel during graduation programme but during my junior college days in FC . The hostel lacked of very basic facilities too and in timings were quite strict for girls. The food quality was nice but the dwelling was not.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
