Life at CIFE: a journey towards learning and success

- Infrastructure is the best here. The library is very big with lots of books and journals like nature publications. The laboratories are equipped with advanced equipments and facilities in lab are high class. The classrooms are air conditioned and are fitted with smartclasses. The cafeteria and canteen is very clean and provides freshly prepared food. There is a big indoor stadium for sports and also outdoor tennis courts, volleyball courts and football courts.
- Faculties are the main highlights of our institution as they are the top fisheries scientists in the world itself. They guide us very effectively. We can approach them with any doubts at anytime they will happily clear them all. They guide us how to write exams, how to improve learning skills, speaking skills also.
Dislikes
- Nothing I dislike here. All the things are very good here.
- The experience here at CIFE is good that I don't have any negative to say.
Remarks :
CIFE is the 1st ranked fisheries college in the country. It have many accreditation including NAAC and many other international collaborations for studies. The teachers here are the top fisheries scientists of the country which makes the education here the top standard quality education. Inorder to get admission here you have to appear for AIEEE PG conducted by ICAR after completing a 4 year bachelors in BFSc(Bachelor of fisheries science). In that entrance exam you have to qualify and secure a rank below 100 to get a seat in CIFE. The rank range varies depending on the reservations you have. We have to spend atleast an year of proper preparation to secure a seat in CIFE as the entrance exam is for all the fisheries graduates in the country there will be thousands of students appearing for this exam every year. The factors that made me chose CIFE is the quality of education, exposure to various activities, interaction with top scientist in Fisheries sector, the college campus ambience.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because fisheries sector is the sunrise sector of India. It provides high opportunities in the future and also the learning process is very enthusiastic. The faculties in CIFE are the top scientist in the country who qualified the ARS exams. The teaching methods differ with every teacher as they have individual approach. The teaching is mainly focused on field works and labs so as to get more exposure to the learning. The exams are conducted in semester wise. It comprises a quiz, midterm, practical exams and finally the semester exams. The exams will be there for first two semesters only. The last two semesters will be for research works and publication of the thesis, seminars etc... there are hence a total of four semester in total. The grade point will be published after exams and the total grade points in CGPA will be published at the end of the course. The one with top CGPA will be the topper in the institute for that academic year and awarded with gold medal.
Internships Opportunities :
National and international internships are available. We can do internship in top central government institutions like CIFRI ( Central Inland fisheries research institute), CMFRI ( Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute), DCFR ( Directorate of Cold water Fisheries) etc... We can also do many trainings internationally at Thailand, Myanmar etc... Mostly these internships are done after the second semester so currently I haven't done any as I am a second semester student.
Placement Experience :
Campus placements are present which we can apply while we are studying. Many of the national and international companies related to fisheries comes to our institution as many of the owners of these companies are our alumni. My plan is to do further studies so I didn't explored the much opportunities of the jobs side.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
CIFE is a prime central institute for fisheries, Here all the students will get a monthly stipend provided by the institute. The students with JRF scholarship will get stipend from India Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). For regular scholarship it is around 7000 INR and for JRF it is 12000 INR. For yearly fees it is 22000 and 21000 for 2 years respectively. The backward classes students will get the tuition fees back. Caution fees, admission fees, lab fees, tution fees everything is covered under this yearly fees. The fees is very less as compared to other fisheries institutions as CIFE is a central institute. They also provide monthly stipend which can easily cover our studying expenses here. Contingency is there which means the fees we pay for anything related to studies like conference registration fees, books, pens, pendrive and other stationary brought for studying and research equipments needed while research during 2nd year etc, will be paid back at the end of each year.
Campus Life :
The campus is very green and eco-friendly. The infrastructure is so good and proper. The library here at CIFE is so large which occupies an entire building. The online library facilities are provided here. The library have a huge collection of books. Every classrooms are air conditioned, classrooms are provided with smart classrooms. The teaching mode is mainly by there smart boards. Many cultural programs are also conducted in CIFE. Latest programs conducted are Fish swad were individual stalls are provided for every state of India and the students will prepare their authentic food and sell in the stalls. That program is coordinated by the faculties. Many sports also takes place in the campus like cricket leagues, badminton and tennis matches which includes both faculty and students. There are social groups run by students who coordinate many sports and arts programs. Faculties also have social groups. The both groups together coordinate the sports and arts meets in the institute.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities will be provided for both girls and boys separately by the institute. It will be inside the institute campus itself. There is two campus for CIFE one old campus and one new campus so there are two hostels for masters students and one hostel for the PhD students. The food in each Hostels is prepared by the cooks appointed by the institute. The mess is run by the students itself, there will be two mess managers who will be from the students side. They will formulate the menu and purchase necessary items for the mess. The food is very tasty here. There will be feasts at the hostels where all students from other hostels can also go and participate. The hostel fees is only for the mess only there is no rent for the hostel as it is provided by the institute. The mess fees should be paid at every month for the respective messes taken by each departments. There is many facilities available in the hostel like washing machine and refrigerators.

Placement Offers were Good on Records till now Collage has its own Placement Department. The Placement Department is operated by professionals. It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.
An industry focused learning experience

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat
Placement Experience :
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.

Student must pass all the Sem for the placement or college is new thats why there was no records about placement, My after the degree to be a indie game developer and build an aweosom game with the help of C++
