Remarks :

I first cleared the CUET exam in 2023. Then I registered myself on the DU UG admission portal and filled out the preference sheet for selecting colleges. In the preference sheet, one needs to add the most desired college and course at the top. While filling out the sheet, I didn't have much guidance from anyone regarding the best colleges so I relied on information on the internet. My parents specifically told me not to select any North campus colleges as it will increase my travel time and at that time I wasn't aware of the benefits of North campus colleges. So I ended up searching the best college of South Campus and ARSD came up in the search results so I kept it on top. Later, I realised that even though the NIRF ranking of this college is top 5, Sri Venkateswara of South Campus would have been a better choice. And North campus even better. So don't rely solely on information present on the internet, please fill out the preference sheet very carefully with some guidance.

Course Curriculum Overview :

BA English Honours was my desired course from the very start because of my love for literature and culture. I always wanted to pursue this and hence chose this as my first preference. The faculty of the college is highly qualified and helpful. The teachers are very good at their job and every teacher has a different approach at teaching which makes it really fun and not repetitive or boring. The only thing I don't like about DU is that the semesters are really short so the syllabus is mostly not completed on time and we students end up doing it ourselves or teachers rush. This happens because for two whole they schedule the exams, so the semester is really just 3 months long. I hope they bring changes to that. The examination pattern of this course is really easy and most of the students pass.

Internships Opportunities :

The only internship I have done till now is for a company named Nettv4u as a content writer but I did it on my own and this opportunity was not given by college. The paygrade was really low and they made a lot of demands.

Placement Experience :

Most English Honours students opt for higher studies like MA and Phd, or Competitive exams, so the placements in this course are lower compared to other technical courses. However, overall a 50-60% students from the college get placements. Highest package offered is around 8-9 LPA and average around 5-6 LPA. Companies like MSME and Wipro offer placements here.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am from the general category. In my first year, I paid an amount of 14,350. It increased in second year and amounted to around 17,000. Now, I'm in my third year and they have again increased the fees to 19,030. Apart from the tuition fees, as there are six semesters for a three year bachelor's degree, an examination fee 1,030 is collected in the odd semesters and 1300 in the even semesters.

Campus Life :

Our college's annual cultural fest is called "Tide". Usually the fest season is during February -March every year but something or the other is going on in Delhi University Colleges every day so the experience is really 'happening'. You won't be bored, at least that's my guarantee, except of course you keep attending continuous lectures. There are a number of societies (clubs) that students can join and societies keep organising events and activities that are really fun. The library is two-floored and resourceful with almost all course books available but some of the classrooms are really cramped when there are a lot of students in a single class. But there are big classrooms as well and Science labs too. There are two grounds in college where students play sports like cricket, volleyball, football, basketball, etc. The college has a football club too.

Hostel Facilities :

There is no hostel facility available in college. However, students who come from outside Delhi stay in rented PGs in Satya Niketan which is a 5 minute walk from the college. Satya Niketan has many cafes, stationeries, etc.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
