- I like that the college has a clean and well-maintained campus with good infrastructure, and the faculty is generally supportive and clear with their teaching. The campus life is balanced too—safe, structured and not chaotic, which makes it easier to focus on studies.
- I appreciate the disciplined environment and the way the college keeps things organized, from classes to labs. The campus has a good atmosphere overall, and most teachers genuinely try to help you understand the subjects instead of just rushing through the syllabus.
Dislikes
- One thing I don’t like is that some administrative processes move slower than they should, and getting certain approvals or information can take more time than expected. A few rules also feel a bit too strict at times, especially when it comes to attendance and small day-to-day things.
- Another point is that the workload can pile up quickly during exams, and not every faculty member teaches with the same clarity or energy, so the experience can feel uneven. Campus life is decent, but it could use more frequent events or student-driven activities to make it feel more lively.
Remarks :
I chose Chandigarh Engineering College because it felt reliable in terms of placements, the campus vibe was decent, and the admission process wasn’t messy. For admission, I didn’t face any GD, interview or extra tests apart from the CGCUET exam, which also decides your scholarship. The cut-off isn’t crazy and the counselling is quick. I didn’t prepare much for the exam, just brushed up basic concepts since the paper is pretty straightforward. The good part about the college is the disciplined environment, supportive faculty, maintained labs and a placement system that actually works if you stay consistent. The campus is safe and overall the academics push you to keep your grades stable. The downsides are the strict rules, slow admin work at times, and the workload getting heavy around exams. But overall it’s a predictable and stable place to study, which is why I picked it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because it felt like the most future-proof option and aligned with what I actually wanted to do long-term. The curriculum is pretty structured and keeps getting updated, so it doesn’t feel outdated like some other colleges. Academically it’s manageable if you stay consistent, but you can’t slack for too long or it piles up fast. Most of the faculty are well-qualified and know their subjects, and the teaching style is a mix of theory plus practical examples. Some teachers genuinely make things easy to understand, while a few are a bit strict, but overall the learning experience is solid. Term exams are held on time every semester, no random delays. The difficulty level is moderate; not too easy, not unfair either. If you attend classes and revise properly, it’s very doable.
Internships Opportunities :
Since I’m a fresher, I haven’t done any internships yet, but the college does provide internship options once you move into higher semesters. Most opportunities come through the Training and Placement cell, which brings in companies for roles like web development, software trainee, data analytics intern and basic technical support roles. Some of these internships are paid, depending on the company, and stipends usually fall in the modest range since they’re beginner-level profiles. Students who take these internships usually work on small projects like building simple modules, handling basic frontend or backend tasks, data cleaning, documentation or assisting teams on ongoing projects. The idea is more about learning and exposure rather than heavy, high-pressure tasks. As I progress into the next semesters, I’ll be able to participate in these drives and apply for the roles that match my track.
Placement Experience :
Placements at CEC are fairly decent if you keep your academics consistent. The college brings a good number of companies for CSE-related branches, and eligibility is pretty straightforward: you need to clear your semesters, maintain attendance, and register with the T&P cell. Most companies follow the usual process of an aptitude test, technical round and HR. Big names do visit along with a lot of mid-tier companies, so the overall chances of getting placed are good if you actually prepare. For my batch, the highest package touches the multi-lakh range while the average stays around the mid range depending on your performance and the company you sit for. A solid percentage of students get placed, especially in CSE and allied branches. Internships are also available through the college, mostly in software, web development, analytics or similar roles. Some come with a stipend, some don’t, and the tasks usually revolve around basic project work.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The yearly tuition fee is ?1,65,000. Other charges like the development fee, lab fee, and exam fee are included in the tuition amount. This means there are no unexpected academic charges each semester. Transport fees are separate and depend on the distance from your pickup point to the campus. There is not a significant increase in fees from year to year for my batch. The fee structure has remained mostly stable, with only minor adjustments made by the institute. Scholarships CEC offers a scholarship based on the CGCUET scholarship exam. The scholarship amounts range from ?8,000 to ?33,000 and applies in the first semester. This scholarship can be renewed in the following semesters based on: Semester GPA (minimum 8.5) Attendance (approximately 85% required) If you maintain your grades and attendance, the scholarship will continue throughout your studies. Campus Life :
Life on campus is pretty decent. The environment is safe and the vibe is a mix of disciplined and chill depending on where you spend your time. There are student clubs for tech, cultural events and volunteering, so you do get enough opportunities to be involved if you want to. Infrastructure is solid for a private college. Classrooms are clean, have projectors, and most basic amenities are always available. The library has a good range of course books, reference material and journals, so you don’t feel stuck for study resources. The main fest happens around March every year and it’s usually a mix of cultural programs, competitions and concerts, so the campus feels lively for a few days. Sports facilities are there for football, basketball, cricket and indoor games, and the college does hold tournaments and activities through the year.
Hostel Facilities :
I didn’t stay in the hostel myself, but a couple of my friends do, so I’ve seen things pretty closely. Their hostel buildings are decent, rooms are compact but clean, and the common areas are maintained well enough. The mess food isn’t anything special, but it’s not terrible either. The menu rotates and there are a few good days and a few very average days, which is pretty normal for any college mess. The hostel registration process is simple. You apply during admission or at the start of the semester and rooms are allotted based on availability. The fees are on the higher side compared to PGs, but the convenience of staying on campus makes up for it for some people. Since I didn’t take hostel, I rented a room in a nearby PG area. Most PGs around the campus are walkable or just a short ride away, and you get more freedom and better food options outside. The locality is student-friendly, has grocery shops, cafés and basic amenities, so managing daily life is easy.

To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.

Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
