- The good thing about the college is that it has only one stream (i.e. commerce) so the whole environment in the college itself is adaptive for any student. And thus the faculty teaching in the college are all highly educated and qualified.
- Other best thing in the college is that it has a central Library which offers all other kinds of books and magazine/ journals required by the student. It also has an E- library, so any books or material not available in the library (hard copy) is easily available in the e - library of the college. The infrastructure is also well maintained and developed with three badminton courts , table tennis court, other indoor and outdoor activities for the students. The college also has a Gymnasium for the students, with a good number of equipments that would fulfill the requirements.
Dislikes
- Overall the college is appreciated in terms of quality education but other co-curricular activities should also be focused for the overall development of the students. Events must be organised more frequently and educational tours must be taken.
- As compared to other colleges, the placement and recruitment scenario of the college must taken into consideration. As a student feels worthy, that he/she directly gets employed after completing his graduation which makes the student feel commendable of studying in the institute, as well as getting a hastle free job .
Remarks :
CKB Commerce College is affiliated with Dibrugarh University with w NAAC grade of B++. At present it offers only a bachelor in commerce (Hons) with a major in Accounting and finance, marketing, human resource management, marketing, and banking subjects. Though everyone has to study the same subjects till the 4th semester, the major paper will be selected in the final year (i.e. 5th and 6th semester). CKB Commerce College also has a school of management offering a BBA ( Bachelor in Business Administration) which is a semi-government undertaking and is registered in Dibrugarh University itself. The faculty staff are adequate in all the departments. Different departments in the college are the Accounts Department, mathematics and Statistics Department, English Department, Hindi Department, Bengali Department, Assamese Department, marketing department, Banking Department, and Human Resource Department. Newly the master's in Commerce ( M.com) has also started in the college in the year 2022.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is set by Dibrugarh University itself under UGC guidelines. After the introduction of NEP (New Education policy), the subjects selected focus on the practicalism of what the students need to get through. Under the CBCS system, the course duration was of 3 years (6 semesters). But now students have to study for 4 years as mentioned in the new education policy rules and other norms. The faculties as said are all highly educated and well qualified in their respective fields and most of them are Ph.D. scholars holding doctorate degrees. The fee structure is completely low as it is a Government college where at present the fees for 1 year (including two semesters, six months each ranges from 5000-6000 INR). Which is comparatively lower than the other private colleges. There are various Government scholarships available for the students. For the reservation category ST/SC scholarships, OBC scholarships, and the most preferred ISHAN UDAY SCHOLARSHIP.
Internships Opportunities :
As for internships, there is no direct internship provided by the college. If a student is interested in doing any kind of internship he/she needs to find it on his own. Internships from the college campus are very rare. There is a very low chance of getting internships from the college side.
Placement Experience :
Internships and placements are Rare in the college, though the private firms organize some kind of events in the college, like skill development courses and other programs, campus placements are very rare, as the companies don't hire from the college with walk-in interviews as compared to other institutions. And whenever there is a campus placement program the packages go on between 2-5 lakhs per annum. In terms of placements and internships, the college needs to engage more.
Campus Life :
The campus and social life in the college is up to the mark but it also can be improved, as there is less participation of students in this kind of activities in the college. Though college fests, other cultural and other cultural events are organised by the college admission with the collaboration of the student union and there is also Maas participation in these events, still the college needs to host other events. Educational tours and excursions are not organized other than the NSS program and camps. The overall college infrastructure is developed and has a lot of facilities such as an indoor stadium, a big auditorium, a central Library, a digital room, and many other facilities. Talking about the hostel the college only provides a girls hostel and no boys hostel, which is needed in the college.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
