- I love love the campus . Being a girl I can't explain in words the feeling of roaming on road late at night without hesitation. There are many dhabas around that are open till 3Am ya you heard it right.The night life of campus is just amazing. Youll find groups of students wandering around late at night. I have a keen interest in photography and jnu campus is just perfect for that.
- Faculty atmosphere is very intellectual type.Its good to study from professor whose books you have read . Professors like shefali jha , manindra thakur ,vidhu verma,Amir ali,Ajay gudavarthy, Maushami basu ,nivedita Menon and many more.Its such a privilege.
Dislikes
- JNU is quite hectic in academics so you are left with almost no time for yourself but I think this depends on the course you choose. so choose wisely.
- Walking 1.5km for the classes then coming back the same for lunch then going back for Library and much more.The campus is quite big so you have to walk and walk and walk.Also the mess food at times is not so healthy.
Remarks :
Jawaharlal Nehru University is India's most prestigious College.Recently it have been ranked 69 out of 500 colleges globally so you know why I chose this college. Being from a middle class family JNU was always my choice as the expenses of living in Delhi is very expensive and jnu provides you hostel with minimum fees only mess bills are Burden sometime that too only 3000per month.So financial reasons paired with academic excellence were my reasons to choose JNU. I took admission throught CUET based marks only there were no interviews or any subjective exam for it.You just need to score good in your cuet exams .Always aim for highest possible marks because the cut off for JNU is typically very high.My preparation for cuet was through self study only mainly through YouTube lectures of Pol SC help and eduseeker along with tons of Pyqs . Try to solve as many Pyqs as one can because it's the real game changer. Reason and assertion types questions are the most important.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As someone aspiring for upsc ,political science looked like a decent subject to me so I chose to continue my masters with political science but after coming here I realised there is much more to life and political science. Jnu is mainly famous for the academic area so if you are looking forward for doing PhD in political science jnu is the best place you can go to. The faculty here in jnu is so good . Most of the professor have done their phds from foreign universities like Cambridge, Oxford and others . Also the teaching is better in comparison to other government universities as classes are mainly regular in my centre but there is no compulsion of attendance so you can do as you please . The exams are mainly based on readings provided by the professors .Some readings are quotes tough but it is manageable because you are in jnu afterall. There are various scholarships like MERIT CUM MEANS and NSP. The cost of studying in jnu is decent for a middle class student.
Placement Experience :
I don't think there is any placement in my centre as I am from political science. I plan on mainly attempting government job exams but I may consider doing for PhD.There is no placement so I don't have any idea on this topic.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus.Oh this is the question I am most happy to answer.The campus is covered in lushy green trees and it feels like you are living in a very peaceful environment always from the busy citylife of Delhi . JNU is very beautiful in terms of its campus. Infrastructure is not so developed like IITs and I think it Is mainly due to fund cuts but the campus is very liberal as you can road around at night or anytime as you please there is no hostel time restrictions and it is safe too mainly for girls who wish to taste the night air freely .there are many talks organised on various current social topics and it is I think the most distinguishing feature of JNU.Regular talks and discussions just enrich the environment. There are many sports are too like badminton court or basketball court . There are many parties here in campus . There is a Student organization too the election of which feels like a festival in itself.Food in hostel is also decent

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

Placement at PGDAV college are average students who have good communication skills internships and extra certification usually gets better opportunities the placement cell is active and organise placement drives , workshops , resume building session and career building guidance student should not have any active backlog

PLACEMENT FOR BBA ARE AVERAGE WITH COMPANIES OFFERING ROLE IN SALES, MAREKTING, HR AND OPERATION. AVERAGE PACKAGE IS AROUND 3 TO 4 LAKH PER YEAR MANY STUDENTS ALSO PURSUE HIGHER STUDIES LIKE MBA TO IMPROVE THEIR CARRER OPPORTUNITIES.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
Maitreyi college is so underrated

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
