The popularity of this college made me choose this as ICT ranks among the top 5 colleges in Maharashtra. Also it is the best college for studying chemical engineering in India. You can have an admit in this college if you have a good enough score in MHTCET or JEE (Mains) exam. I had 94 percentile in MHTCET exam and got Btech Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology.
The course I am currently pursuing is academically very vast with lots of organic chemistry involved in the syllabus. You will be amazed with labs that this institute has to offer. In this specific course, you will have the opportunity to make paracetamol, dettol, shaving cream and other medicines and cosmetics. ICT offers many scholarships for financial aid to students. One of them is MCM scholarship.
Out of the 12 clubs in ICT, one of them is Bombay Technologist. They run a program called as BTUGRP. Under this program, one can apply for a research internship under any one of the professors at ICT. Needless to say, the professors at ICT are really helpful. Also not to forget that this program is completely optional.
When talked about placements, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering and Surface coating Engineering have the best placements. Other branches have not so good placements. My branch, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology has very low placements with very low package as most of the students tend to go to abroad for higher studies, leaving some mere companies recruiting students from this branch. Last but not the least, every student of ICT Mumbai has to undergo a 3 month internship which is a part of the curriculum. This mandatory internship is done at the end of your 3rd year.
The life at this campus is pretty good as it will keep you busy with many fests and programs. It has a total of 12 clubs with Vortex and Manzar being the biggest clubs. ICT Mumbai has a big turf popularly named as Pidilite Pavilion. It also has a volleyball court, basketball court, badminton court and a multipurpose court for playing other sports. But one downside of these fests and clubs is that all of these will keep you engaged for one semester (thats 6 months) and then you will spend your other semester completely dry with only studies left for you to do. I am a hosteller and the hostels are really good and liveable as compared with the hostels of VJTI. The mess is decent. ICT Hostels are really cheap. If you choose to stay at a PG or rent an apartment here in Matunga, you will definitely have your father’s pocket empty.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
