IIIT Pune is a prestigious institute in India, The only reason I entered this college is their placement statistics. To get into this college for the B.Tech program needs to qualify for JEE mains as per category rank given on the JOSAA official website, JOSAA is the body that conducts the counseling process for allotment of colleges to students based on their Rank there are 6 rounds of. If any student is not allotted a seat in any college the vacant seat will be filled out by another organization which is CSAB having 2 rounds only. Our college offers 2 branches 1st is CSE and 2nd is ECE One thing that students should consider is the 12th percentage as per Goverment GR from 2023 the [OPEN/OBC- 75%; SC/ ST- 65%] is mandatory. The only thing that an engineering college does not provide is a permanent campus it runs from a temporary campus currently in the 2024-25 academic year it will shift to a permanent campus.
The reason behind choosing CSE is job opportunities as compared to other branches the placement is high. IIIT Pune in 2023 shows 16 LPA is the Average package, 8 LPA is the lowest and 53 LPA is the highest package offered. Faculty is 90% proper as needed for engineering institute but to be honest rest 10% seems like they are not willing to give that way of knowledge. Most of the faculty are Ph.D holder so they are well educated and their way of teaching is also good. In one-semester Term 1, and Term 2 20 marks for each exam are conducted, and at last End of the semester which is 60 marks the paper level is moderate to difficult. As the college concludes under the PPP (Public-private partnership model) the fees are higher as compared to other colleges. every year 10-20% of academic fees are increased. The Academic fee is 2,35,700( In two slots), the Hostel fee - is 60k, and the Mess fee- is 18K if you want to buy PG instead of only a day scholar for now willing to live outside the hostel The college does not provide itself, we can apply on the portal.
I am in 2nd year so not opted yet for an internship, in 3rd yr internships are available for me for roles such as Full stack developer, frontend developer, backend developer, etc. The stipend varies according to roles from 40-50K/month or some also offer 70-80k/Per month to students based on their skill coding. Projects should be real problem solving that recruiters can appreciate majorly students are making similar projects which is not a unique thing to higher a student so trying a unique and problem-solving project is needed in this field
The eligibility criteria to apply for placement rounds are a 7.5 CGPA as a safer side and for a good placement the skills, hackathon partitions, and Projects are also factors for ON campus placement. The recruiters as Yugabyte which offered 53LPA CTC to 5 students last year as well as Groww, Nomora holdings, Adobe, Amazon, Nvidia, etc The average is 16 LPA & lowest is 8 LPA most of the offered PPO(pre-placement offers) to students job profiles such as Software engineer, Data scientist, and UI/UX designer are paid high I would like to get an internship first then will do a job in a company after that.
The college provides exposure to students to explore more in social life there are many events/fest conducted by the college itself or with clubs such as the E-summit which is concluded in April and conclave the annual techno-cultural fest of the college is held in Oct-Nov. The clubs provide an opportunity for every student to show their talent in different ways clubs such as Saaz( The music club of IT Pune), rang(The Art club), QuantNum( The math club), Sports Club, etc as many 9-10 clubs are there. As the college doesn't have its campus yet the sports facilities are not so good but the college sends players to Inter IIIT tournaments held at various places. majorly all clubs are run by college students there is a design team, social media, marketing, and PR led by a Head in every club The hostel is good enough to provide basic facilities to students such as water, electricity, cupboards, a table, bed respectively but the Mess food is not that good.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
