Is MNLU Mumbai worth it?

- The best thing I find about the university are the seniors, there is no ragging culture and the seniors are very inclusive, ofcourse there are some who you need to stay away from but in majority it is very appreciable. The campus life is probably nil as there is no campus it's a rented campus but the locality of hiranadani itself is top notch, you can access anything every store in just 2 minutes like kfc, ccd, starbucks, hotels, etc.
- Another thing I like about the university is my english professor, probably the best tutor I have ever come across. The classes are fun but ofcourse there are times when all you wanna do is doze off.
Dislikes
- The mess, the hostel, the academic building everything is just bearable and not good.
- We do not have a sports ground and sports facilities, neither a gym, also the fact that the library shuts soo soon.
Remarks :
I reside in Mumbai, and mnlu was a good decision for me as it was nearer to my home, and also because of the location advantage. The college ranks 8th out off all the NLUs and overall it is a decent college. The cut offs for general category is around rank 500 - 800. The admission process is similar as it is for all the NLUs. To get into an NLU you have to give a competitive exam that is CLAT. The average no. Os students who give clat is around 90000. The college and campus is on a rented premises, and the main campus is under Construction, it will be in versova/Goregaon. There are clubs, societies and centres in the college, the placement cell is also present. On an average 75 out off 120 students get placed. You can prepare for the entrance exams by yourself rhough I would prefer tuitions. I was in career launcher and it helped me a lot. Give a lot of mocks and know your strengths and weaknesses, time management is also very necessary. All the best!
Course Curriculum Overview :
Mnlu has only BA.LL.B (HONS) course, with many more bridge courses. The exams are divided into mid semester and end semester. Each semester is around 4 months. The academic pressure is comparatively better than Nlsiu. There is fee waiver for caste category students. There are ICC and Disciplinary committees. The difficulty level for exams is also manageable. There are assignments/research projects given for each subjects for each semester. The faculty is also pretty decent, as it is in every university, there are some excellent professors as well as not so good professors. There is a scholarship for sc/st students, and different scholarships which students can seek by their personal capacity.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done a online internship in my personal capacity and not through the placement cell. It was a legal research and content writing internship where I researched on a lot of different legal topics and wrote a report or blogs on them. In the law field most internships do not offer any stipends but the lawyer or the firm can give some stipend if you are lucky. You can intern with advocates, under a firm or courts, government bodies, etc
Placement Experience :
The placement is tries it's best to get best employers and firms for placements, Like khaitan and Co. Azb, etc. The highest package received here is around 16lpa, though I would not say everyone gets such a good package. The average package is around 3 to 4 lakh. Around 75 of the 120 students get placed. I want to be a corporate lawyer so mumbai is probably the best place because of the locational advantage.
Campus Life :
There are two fests that happen in mnlu. First is Zest and second Abhikrama. They are fairly fun as we do not have a big campus there are times which do not allow us big celebrations. During Abhikrama there are sports competitions like badminton, cricket, football, basketball, tug of war, table tennis, chess, murder mystery, etc. There are celebrations for festivals and students can organize a celebration if they want for a religious or cultural festival of their region, for eg. Onam. The hostel is in a rented place and to be honest it is a mess, though it is liveable I would not recommend the hostel as a good place. The mess is fine the food is not that good, it's edible, and if lucky it is good sometimes surprisingly. There is chicken every Sundays. There is a cultural club and a society called Kamil and cult soc. They organize most of the cultural fests in the university. The library is pretty sufficient though the downside is that it is open only till 5 or sometimes 9pm.

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat

no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.
