Maharashtra National Law University is one of the youngest universities that was established in 2014 in Mumbai. It is one of the premier national law universities established in the State of Maharashtra to promote world-class legal education and research. MNLU was established by the Maharashtra State Government under MLNU Act is a part of the Consortium of National Law Universities. The university provides various courses which include BA LL.B (Hons), LL.M, LLM for working professionals, MA in mediation & Conflict Resolution, and MBA in Corporate Finance, Banking, and Law. The MNLU campus is located near IIT Bombay and is 13 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The hostel is conveniently situated just across the campus. Ques. Can one convert his full-time Ph.D. program to a part-time program in MNLU Mumbai?

Ans. Yes. MNLU Mumbai allows the conversion of candidates from a full-time program to a part-time program. However, one needs the approval of the Doctoral Committee for the same. The maximum period for completing and submitting the research work for evaluation is six years for full-time candidates. Part-time candidates must complete a minimum of four years of study, including coursework, at the university. This includes time spent on research at other locations with the supervisor's permission. Six years shall be the maximum period in which a part time candidate shall complete the research work and submit it for evaluation..

Ques. What are the benefits of the LLM (Executive) course of MNLU Mumbai?

Ans. LLM (Executive) is a one-year course and is very helpful for those who are unable to take a regular LLM program. Candidates for admission will be selected on the basis of Entrance Test conducted by MNLU Mumbai. This entrance exam will be conducted in the campus of MNLU Mumbai only. The merit cut-offlist will accordingly be prepared for admission. Reservation is as per Maharashtra Government Rules. The classes for LL.M Professional course will be conducted through classroom teaching on Saturday/Sunday or Public Holidays. The total numbers of seats are 60. MNLU Mumbai fees for Maharashtra Domicile is Rs. 1,60,000 and Rs. 1,80,000 for Non-Maharashtra Domicile. USD 3500/- (USD Three Thousand Five Hundred only)for Foreign Nationals. 

Ques. Will MNLU Mumbai refund my fees if I wish to leave the college for any reason?

Ans. Yes, 100% of the fees will be refunded up to 15 days from the date of admission granted to the student. Thereafter, for the next 15 days period, the refund will be 50%. No refund will be made available after 30 days from the date of admission.

Ques. Does MNLU Mumbai accept scores from examinations other than PAT for its Ph.D. program?

Ans. Yes, MNLU Mumbai accepts NET/SET/JRF examination scores as well. Candidates who have qualified for any of the above examinations are exempted from PAT and are eligible to appear directly at the personal interview.

Ques. What are the course fees for the M.A. program at MNLU Mumbai?

Ans. The course fee for the M.A. program is INR 1,75,000. This includes admission fees, tuition fees, and library fees. However, it does not include the lodging and boarding charges.
