I am pursing BLS LLB which is an integrated course of bachelors in Legal Studies and bachelor in law (LLB). The course has recently been renamed BA LLB without any change in the curriculum. The curriculum is fairly easy to get through and not rigorous at all. It is also a bit outdated and needs change in my opinion. While most NLUs introduce law subjects in their first year itself, Mumbai university curriculum introduces law subjects in 3rd year which is a major setback considering that most students start interning early and need the legal understanding and knowledge to proceed and excel at work. There are ten semesters in 5 years, which is 2 semesters per year with a 75/25 mark pattern, which means that there is a 75 marks written exam along with 25 marks internal exam. The written exam is fairly simple with previous years question papers available, one can easily pass. Internal exams consists of class test and assignments which are simple too.

Glc mumbai offers a bachelor of legislative law (Bls LLB) degree , including essential subjects like economics, logic and english As the only government law college in maharashtra , GLC benifits a distinguished faculty comprising experienced legal professionals and scholars.

So the teachers here are very supportive. Very experienced faculty. You get alot of knowledge if you really wanna know! But there is no compulsion on attendance and hence lectures do not take place but again there are some teachers who ask you to attend the lecture and give you some really creative assignments which helps you alot to understand the topic!

I chose this course for 5 year BA.LLB because the attendance policy at GLC, Mumbai is very flexible which allowed me to explore the industry with a lot of internships. Also, the alumni base of GLC is very influential which helps you to easily land internships and placements across the best firms in the country. The faculty is mostly on a contractual basis with few permanent teachers from the Government of Maharashtra. Classes are irregular with no approachable faculty. you build your potential and educate yourself. Exams are controlled by the University of Mumbai and are subject to arbitrary checking. Just pray to god once you have written them. They are random. Difficulty level is easy. Being a completely government institution it is very pocket-friendly with almost negligible fee hikes. However, the college offers no hostel facility so overall the cost rises due to accommodation and food arrangements. There are scholarships for Maharashtra candidates only.

Law is something that I wanted to do for a very long time, the faculties are really nice, and you don’t have compulsory attendance so you can intern and manage college at the same time! The semester exams occur every 5-6 months.

The college provides various courses including bls llb,llb,llm,and it is the oldest law college in asia,the teaching method is old fashioned and there is not much inpostance given to the attendence,the professors are quite intelligent
