Admission is done based on the entrance conducted by the university known As HNBGU CET for PG programs and CUET for UG programs. Number of seats in Seed science and technology is 17. The university is good overall as there is no heavy academic pressure as well and the students who are preparing for other government jobs and exams get ample time to prepare. On the other hand, the study is not as much as good compared to other universities as classes are not regular and posts of teachers are vacant in large numbers most of the PhD scholars of the university itself teach in the classes.
As my background was from the Agriculture stream I was interested in taking a plant breeding genetics subject for my master's but as I did not get the subject in other universities I got Seed science and technology here in hnbgu. Also, the fee structure of the university is very flexible and economical for students coming from low-income backgrounds
No till now don’t have opted for any kind of internship program as our course is based on fieldwork. If we opt for any kind of internship we will be not able to work in our field and research areas regularly. Hence I've opted for any kind of internship
Placements are very very low as this is a government-run university hence low placements rates are there. Especially in agricultural courses placements are very low. Or no placements are there. Often the student can opt for off-campus placements. And try off-campus companies
campus is filled with lush greenery and surrounded by beautiful Garhwal mountains on the bank of river Alaknanda. I’ve opted for a hostel but the allotment of the hostel is according to marks secured in UG. Only 1 or 2 students from each department are given the hostel seats. As the number of hostels is very less here.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
