Delhi being a hub for pursuing and practicing law was a major factor in deciding this college. Also, as per the well-renowned NIRF rankings, it ranked 12th out of the various law schools in the country. Additionally it is a NAAC A++ Accredited Institution and the charm associated with the main campus of GGSIPU is different altogether. I got admission on the basis of my CLAT ranking. Further, I appeared for the counseling rounds and got my desired course.
This course provides you with a nuanced set of skills which are industry-relevant when we talk about the legality in managing an organisation or a company. As far as the quality of the faculty is concerned, I would say that most of the faculties are well versed with their specialised subjects and the teaching method promotes interaction in the classroom. However, there are some teachers who merely focus on finishing their syllabus and you have to put extra effort from your end during exams. The term exams are timely and they do require a good preparation strategy to perform well. Since, law examinations are pretty elaborating and lengthy, time management and writing speed plays a crucial role in finishing the paper on time. There has been some fee hike for the batches after 2021 and they pay around 1.2 Lakhs per annum as tuition fees. Apna Bank Scholarship is provided for meritorious students who belong to economically weaker sections of society by the Directorate of Students Welfare.
I did several internships since my first semester in the college. Starting with NGOs, I've had several experiences of working under the domain of Technology Law, IPR (Copyrights), Alternate Dispute Resolution, Commercial Litigation, etc. The organisations I've worked with include Project Bodhan, Scriboard Advocates and Legal Consultants, Augralids Law Offices, Research Assistantship at the University of Szeged -Hungary.
The law students have to do multiple internships so as to land at the best workplaces in the country. Having a good alumni base surely helps in getting a lot of internships and even PPOs. The campus recruitment is however, not very fulfilling as only a few students get an opportunity to get hired. Previous recruiters are Bharucha & Partners, RedHat, Singhania and Partners, etc. Highest average package is around 8-9 LPA. Percentage of students getting placed through in-campus placement drive is not that significant as compared to the number of PPOs and other means of getting a job after internships and competitive exams. My plan is to appear for the regulatory body exams such as SEBI Grade-A Legal Officer, RBI Grade-B Legal Officer, CCI Legal Officer, etc. And I am currently working as a legal intern under the Disputes Team of Hammurabi & Solomon which is a Tier-2 Law Firm in Delhi.
The campus life is pleasurable as you are free as a bird in the beautiful lush green 72 Acres Dwarka Campus. The name of the Annual Fest is Anugoonj and it is conducted in the month of February every year. There are 2 libraries i.e. A Central Library and a Law Library and the law students can access both of them. As far as the availability of books and journals are concerned, it is more than sufficient as we also get Online Remote Access to Digital Resources and Research platforms such as SCC Online, Hein Online, Westlaw, etc. Sports activities are at par as the campus has several facilities including an indoor stadium, Olympic standard swimming pool, football and cricket ground as well as volleyball courts. There are several social groups such as Aveksha, Swar, DSOC etc. which gives students plenty of opportunity to showcase their talent. Non-Delhiites are preferred in hostels and the fees is less than 5000 a month which includes a single room, mess (Awesome food) and welfare fees.
IGNOU offers limited direct campus placement opportunities, but the degree is widely recognized and helps improve employability. Students mainly secure jobs through off-campus applications, competitive exams, or by upgrading their skills. The flexible learning system allows learners to work, prepare for higher studies, or pursue professional certifications alongside their course. IGNOU also conducts periodic placement drives through its Campus Placement Cell.
The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.
The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.
Placement at PGDAV college are average students who have good communication skills internships and extra certification usually gets better opportunities the placement cell is active and organise placement drives , workshops , resume building session and career building guidance student should not have any active backlog
PLACEMENT FOR BBA ARE AVERAGE WITH COMPANIES OFFERING ROLE IN SALES, MAREKTING, HR AND OPERATION. AVERAGE PACKAGE IS AROUND 3 TO 4 LAKH PER YEAR MANY STUDENTS ALSO PURSUE HIGHER STUDIES LIKE MBA TO IMPROVE THEIR CARRER OPPORTUNITIES.
The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
