I chose this college on the recommendation of my neighbor and I think I made a good decision for myself. The required percentage for admission to BCA was 50% and I got 66% so I didn't face any trouble in the admissions. I submitted my required documents to the college and it was done. No interviews or tests were required for the admission. Teaching Faculty is one of the things I like about the college. When I was in school I was never open with my teachers. But college made me an extrovert. The teachers of the college are like my family, friends, or whatever you wanna call them. Because I was never treated as just a student, they can give you great life lessons, they will teach you how you deal with things. They will support you and most importantly you will never feel uncomfortable or insecure while you are with them. But these are not the only things required in the student's life. Events are a must in every college which this college lacks a bit.
To be honest I didn't think I was prepared enough to pursue B.TECH that's why I chose BCA as it is only focussed on IT, whereas the BTECH syllabus is very lengthy and according to me useless. If you have skills a BCA student can work the same as BTECH one. BTECH and BCA are both useless if you don't have any skills. Teachers in our college have Masters degrees or PHDs. Their teaching method is great and easy to understand. MSTs are taken before Semester Exams with the same pattern like 3 hours duration etc. Exams do have tricky Questions but if you study hard enough there will be less difficulty during exams. I don't think Fees are hiked, because the same courses offered in nearby colleges ask 3-4 thousand rupees extra.
no internships are available in the college. and I haven't opted for any internship myself. But I am surely considering getting one as I have completed my 2nd Year in my Course. I am looking for an internship in any IT company near me.
Placements are not usually preferred by the students. But big coveted IT Companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc visits college premises regarding placements. I plan to Find a job after my degree, refine my skills, and maybe move to Chandigarh for the mentioned purposes.
Campus life is great, all are very friendly. but I do feel sometimes that our college is smaller in size. In October 2023 Regional Youth Fest happened on the Campus, and many Panjab University affiliated colleges participated in the fest. Libraries do have various books from different authors. I don't know much about sports as I don't participate in any but I know that Cricket, Badminton, Chess, etc are there and i don't know about others. NSS is also available in the College and they also add you to the NSS if you ask them. Hostels are not currently active in college
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
