Here’s why u should/should not take admission in DU.
Likes
- The food in the canteen is very good and tasty. It almost tastes like homemade food.
- Different events and fests are quite good and enjoyable.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is not so good. Classrooms do not have air conditioners so its very difficult to sit for a long time specially in the month of June.
- The admin office is very unresponsive when it comes to problems.
Remarks :
The eligibility depends on the course u wish to pursue. For my course, cuet (entrance exam is compulsory). Students must fill out the application for cuet and register through the DU website as well. CUET centers are usually located in your city. After the results, according to your score, you’ll get admission. If I talk about preparation, it was all basic class 12th syllabus with only mcqs to answer.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The teachers in colleges are highly educated and qualified. Although there is no practical learning experience in my course overall the teaching methods are ok. Exams are conducted for every semester with internal assessments as well. The fee structure of DU is quite affordable. The average for commerce and arts courses is around 10,000-20,000 per annum.
Campus Life :
Our college organizes an annual fest which is usually held in the month of Feb-march. It also has a library which is air-conditioned, unlike classrooms. Students can issue books for 10 days easily. Other than this, there are different societies in college which the students can be a part of. For our college, there are no hostels included so students stay near the area in their own rented pgs.

The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
