- location:- one of the great perk of my college is its location due to its weather and environment as my college is located between the mountains. However local peoples are not social so much but definately you will enjoy here.
- low batch strength:- my college batch strength is very less as compared to any other college. so you will get less competition in placement and in many more things.
Dislikes
- infrastructure:- my college infrastructure is very poor as here in shillong 7-8 months there is rainy season and our college is buildings have not any good facility for this. the classroom are very small.
- campus life:- since the present college campus is 2-3 acres and it doesn't have any playing ground and no space for any other outdoor activities. when the college fest happens then also there is not so space for events.
Remarks :
This college has fewer students so you can focus more on your studies and you have less competition in this college. This college has great weather the whole year as it is located in the mountains. This college doesn't have any permanent campus but a permanent campus will be built in 1-2 years. This college doesn't have any grounds for any sports. This college is not good for CSE students. Overall, if you want a tag of nit and average placement then you can come to this college. To get admission you have to clear JEE mains and get above the 90 percentile for OBC students and the general 93 percentile.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this college for its location and NIT tag. The academic section improved recently but the good faculties are leaving this college as the campus is gonna shift to Cherapunji the remaining faculties are also good and they have great knowledge if you are gonna sit in the GATE exam. Exams are held regularly on time and difficulty level is average. I have been studying here for 2 years and the fee doesn't increase. If you live in a hostel then the cost of study and living will be 10 lakhs. If your parent's income is less than 1 lakh then you will get a 100% rebate on the tuition fee and if between 1 to 5 lakhs then 2/3 of your tuition fee will be reduced.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement is a minimum 6CGPA and also you have good communication skills. Amazon, Vedanta, HCL, power grid, etc visited this college. Highest package:- 12.5 lacks minimum package:- 6 lacks my plans after getting this is to get a decent package job.
Campus Life :
NIT Meghalaya has two festivals:- Shishir and cognitia. Shishir is the cultural fest and cognitia is the technical fest. The library is very small and you can't get a variety of books. This college doesn't have any personal ground for sports. There are various clubs like robotics club, coding club, dance and drama club, etc. Hostel food and menu are average.

Placements are mid , my seniors got placed in various companies, and last year a seniot got placed in google with 20LPA i guess , the average package is low but the placement cell is trying to bring companies

The employment rate of my course is demanding so I opt this. Also there is campus opportunity for some courses available in the college. After biotechnology you can choose any profession like professor researcher etc .

Job opportunities from our college is not quite good, but our college is renowned for their excellence in commerce so employability after completion of course is not a big issue especially for me, i personally would like to get involved in financial sectors

Since it's a college affiliated under NEHU, so there's only graduation course here. But if you want to do masters you have go to NEHU for that. Only then you will get a good placement. But I had friends in other departments they were given the opportunity to sit for placement interview but again the package isn't as high as someone would get after post graduation.

Placement opportunities were not directly available but many companies and institutions scouted our students through seminars and programmes for further job after the degree. The package differed from student to student and they were offered individually to them so it was hard to know the exact number.

80% placement is sure 100% sure 23k for the new minimum it is 4 to 5 lakh package which is amazing as a fresher and the PG rooms is also good idli do output percentage of students getting plus mint and criteria is from the website.

Since I’m still under graduation , I don’t know much about the placements here. But my plans after my graduation is to persue MBA from a good university. But as I’ve heard from my seniors, the placements here are quite good and many of the students grab the placement opportunities that are offered here.
