For admission to this college, I took an entrance exam called NCHMCT which helped us in taking admission to different IHMS all over India. I chose this college as it is one of the best and highly rated colleges in my field and my goal was to be admission to this college
I chose this course as I was highly interested in the hospitality sector and wanted to become a highly skilled chef. The faculty of the college are highly skilled and teach in a very fun and interactive manner which helps us in learning the topics and understanding them quite easily The exams are taken twice in a semester once mid-term and at the end-term exams which are moderately difficult. The fees for all the semesters increase gradually around 15 %to 20% per year
The college has a compulsion over an internship of 17 weeks in an esteemed 5-star hotel where the trainee has to work in all the four core departments and learn it's working. The common stipend is around 5000. I have opted for Amar Vilas Agra by Oberoi's.
The college offers placement in top-rated hotels and companies related to the hospitality sector. There can be multiple rounds for the placements as per the needs and requirements of the company or hotel. In case of no campus placement I will try walk in to different hotels and apply for commis 1. The eligibility criteria for the placements is one must have 75% attendance and have passed all the subjects both theory and practical. The maximum number of students get campus placement but still in case of no campus placement one can walk into their preferred hotel or company. The average package of the college is 3.5 lpa and the highest is 6.4lpa. The most famous recruiters of the college are the IHCL group, Oberoi's group, ITC group, etc.
Life at the campus is fun and there are social gatherings and events regularly which helps in interacting with the students to other students. There are no such clubs and the infrastructure is quite old but the renovation of the same is starting soon. The hostel is very convenient for students as it is attached to the college and the mess food is also quite good but the only drawback that one can face is poor maintenance of the building, broken walls, ceiling, improper pipe fixtures are there, the hostel also has a gym which is quite good but the equipment is also not maintained and is lost. The college is also in a good and peaceful locality where one can easily find PGs and rental houses at affordable prices.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
