- It's very bad. The buildings are old. Only the IT building is new but still it's not upto mark
- The faculty is very friendly and they makes it easy to pass the horrible phase.
Dislikes
- Very old campus. The classrooms are Assam type houses and it is there since it started.
- For campus life nothing to do there. You will get bored very easily and search for others
Remarks :
I wanted to go in the computer line. But since I didn't appear in the engineering exams due to some health issues I couldn't get into BTech CSE. Now to go in the CS line you have options like BCA. But BCA is very common between students and most of the students select it and that's why I didn't have a good POV for it. Then when I started to explore related courses I got to know about BSc in IT. Now in Assam, there are very few govt. colleges who offer these courses- B Borooah College(Guwahati), LCB College (Guwahati). You have to appear for an entrance exam to enroll in this course. The paper is very easy with GK, Basic Maths, and Fundamental of CS. It usually gets you in if you score 50%-60% marks for the UR category, and others less than that.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The per semester admission fee usually varies from 5000 Rs to 7000 Rs including extra exam form fillup fee around 1500 Rs for each semester. If you have a backlog then you have to pay an extra Rs 500 for the subject while form fillup. If you have a score above 75% in 12th then you have a chance to receive the Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme, which I received at that time.
Internships Opportunities :
You have to search on your own if you want to do any internship. No internship is provided for college for this particular course. In Btech courses, you will get assistance but BSc IT is not given much attention by the administration, to be honest. It is neglected by everyone.
Placement Experience :
There is no placement here for BSc IT. At least I hadn't seen or heard. You have to apply offline at various places where you want to transit. After BSc IT, I enrolled for MCA qualifying for the JMEE to get a seat at JEC, Assam.
Campus Life :
There are various societies founded by students who are very active and keep the students engaged at various events. The environment is good with greenery. But still the local people there are not very nice. The infra of college is very upsetting. I rented a PG there with a monthly 5000Rs. The hostel is good for experiencing hostel Life but you may face various problems while in the first year.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
