An Honest Review of SVKM’s Usha Pravin Gandhi College.
Likes
- I really like how the classrooms are well maintained and are not extremely stark white but instead has a nice warm yellow glow which gives a sense on aesthetic environment.
- The faculty is very well educated and help students the most they can.
Dislikes
- I dislike that the college doesn’t have as many fests as other colleges, it makes coming college a little boring after a while where everything is focused towards studying where else other colleges are celebrating.
- The 70% per subject and 75% overall rule for attendance is very hard to maintain especially for students who are working part time or at any other business.
Remarks :
Admission was given based on the Percentage gained in the 12th Board exam. They have a pretty high cut-off and only accept up to 120 students per course, but that gives you the cream crowd and the kind of network you like to be in.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Bachelor’s in Management Studies course at Upg is a three-year program which can be extended to 4 years (optional). The college keeps up with the standards of other reputable colleges. The faculty is one of the major strengths of UPG each one of them has different teaching methods. Two exams were taken one being an Internal exam and the other is external paper along with a few presentations. Though a lot of changes are going to be applied to the upcoming batch as per the new education policy and the college now turning autonomous will have its own set of rules and a few modifications in the prevailing system and code of conduct.
Internships Opportunities :
There are many internships offered for marketing as compared to finance, but this is not just a case of UPG but for every college. Social Media Marketing internships are usually offered by companies to students.
Placement Experience :
The same Placements are offered to UPG students as offered to other SVKM colleges. Each year there is an internship fair where various companies are invited and they offer various internship opportunities to the students.
Campus Life :
Ups is in the SVKM’s Mithibai building. The campus is pretty nice though it consists of just two floors for UPG. However the amount of students rolling in each year is also limited hence, the campus is also small. However, the students do have access to stroll around the entire SVKM campus and use all the canteens. At the time of events, the Mukesh Patel Auditorium is also accessible. Along with that UPG and NMIMS share the library in the Mithibai campus. There are a few clubs but the number of high-scale events as compared to other colleges like Kshitij, Tauranga, Umang, and UPG doesn’t have any such fests. Though being an SVKM student, you do get access to other SVKM college's fests. UPG has several clubs like the Cultural Committee, NSS, FIC, RC, etc

An industry focused learning experience
Placement Experience :
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track

Placement Experience :
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Average college provide average facilities

Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.

Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .

Placement Experience :
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.

engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.

there are lots of mnc company visted college every year, most of companies have there eligiblity criteria is 60% and above overall from 10th, the biggest tech companies like tcs, wipro, accenture, deloitte, infosys, the average package is around 3lpa, every year 50 to 70% students getting placed.

The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
