SVKM's Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science and Commerce is well known for the course which I have opted for. The BSC(IT) course in this college is available and is great too. I had no group discussions or interviews or any type of entrance exam to get admission to this college. I had a conversation with my senior and she recommended it. I had completely got admission on my Maths subject marks. The admission to this course is completely dependent on the marks which you scored in your Maths Board Exams. MATHS is the compulsory subject for opting for this course.
The course is well-planned and structured under the new NEP POLICY,2020 which has been implemented this year. There are 2 major subjects and 6 minor subjects. Faculties are well experienced, majorly having years of teaching experience in different institutes. They show respect towards the students too.
I am a fresher so I haven't opted for any internship yet, also the internships are not open yet for the First Year students of the college. Internships are very important for shaping your career, and give you industrial experience.
Placement and internships are available here at the college. There is a department named ' Placement Cell' that looks after all this stuff regarding placements. Placements should be earned by the students by doing excellent in their academics.
Campus life is amazing as SVKM's colleges are well-known for their very good infrastructural facilities. E.g.:- UPG, NM, MITHIBAI, NMIMS. Also, there are various clubs and committees for students to be a part of. Such includes NSS, DLLE, SPORTS, CULTURAL, IT CLUB, SOU, EIC, ETC.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
