Remarks :

Khalsa College is located in the north campus of Delhi University so that makes it a fairly decent choice if you want to study among the best crowd in Delhi. It is a Sikh minority college which is why almost 50 percent of the seats of this college are reserved for people from Sikh background but honestly, that does not affect the atmosphere in the college in any way. Admission here is based on the CUET exam like any other college at DU. Cuet is conducted by NTA in May and is based on the syllabus of the 12th grade. It is a CBT mcq-based exam. Du has different eligibility criteria for cuet for specific courses which you can find out from the main website. For example for my course economics, I had to give CUET compulsorily in Mathematics and English and then any two other subjects of my own choice. Once your current score is released by NTA, you then have to apply on DU's CSAS portal where you fill out a preference sheet according to your preferred course and college combination.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum followed here is set by the University of Delhi only and the semester-end examinations are also conducted by the university itself so that is the same for all DU students. The curriculum is not very rigorous according to me and one can easily score good marks by starting to study weeks before the exam. However, economics the course that I have chosen happens to be a tad bit more difficult as it is the toughest course in DU so a little more dedication is needed. The faculty here is a blend of both good and not-so-good professors like any other institute. But still, I believe you'll get to learn something from every lecture and every professor is extremely qualified considering they are a part of a prestigious university. Khalsa happens to be a little more expensive compared to other DU colleges but the cost per year is only 22k which is affordable. Financial assistance is still offered to any student who wants to avail the same both by the college and the university.

Internships Opportunities :

I've gotten two internships through my college Placement cell. One of them was in a new-age startup based in Delhi and the other was in economic times. I worked under the capacity of a founder's office intern at the startup, this was a hybrid role and I was offered a stipend of 5k per month. At the Economic times, I worked as an editorial intern and this was in office internship of 2 months where I got a stipend of 10k per month. Both of these experiences were extremely valuable for me as I got to experience the proper corporate office culture and brush up my skills in Excel and MS Office.

Placement Experience :

The Placement cell of the college is very active and works year-round to ensure that the best possible companies come to the campus to recruit students. There are no such specific eligibility criteria to sit for Placements although some companies do specify a minimum CGPA to sit for them. Last year companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, EY, a nation with Namo, RSM, Tresvista etc visited the campus and 175+ offer letters were issued. The highest ctc offered was about 23.05 lakh per annum and the average and the median CTC were 5.8 and 6.05 lakh per annum respectively. The Placement cell also has an extensive internship department which has brought on board companies like Boat, Economic Times, FNP, AAP, times of India etc on campus to offer internships to students. The highest stipend being offered was 80k and the average stipend is 20k. The profiles that are usually hired include analysts, consultants etc.

Campus Life :

Khalsa is located on the north campus which is the hub of Delhi University so life at the campus is perfect for students as you get to interact and network with people from so many different colleges. The library at khalsa is the best part of it. It is a 2-floor structure with the best resources possible and availability of 1000+ books. Khalsa has many societies for students to pursue their hobbies and interests. The most famous ones here are enacts, CDF, the Bhangra society etc. Besides this, khalsa has the largest sports ground in all of the university along with its own basketball and tennis court so it has a very enthusiastic sports crowd and has college-level teams for football, cricket, and hockey among other sports. The annual fest is called Lashkara and it is conducted in March. This is one of the most vibrant fests to happen in DU and has been previously graced by popular singers such as Diljit Dosanjh.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
