1st thing this was a govt. Autonomous college. Which was in the same city as I live in. So was very convenient for me to travel as a day scholar. I had quite an interest in chemical engineering so I chose it as none of the top 5 govt. Autonomous colleges in Maharashtra have it except SGGSIE&T Nanded. I was admitted to this college on the score I secured in MHT-CET 2020. The cutoff for my batch in chemical engineering was around 85 percentile. I was lucky enough to get a seat for my bachelor's from this college
I used to think chemical engineering is similar to a chemist who does formulation a other stuff in the industry, but later in the induction program, we were well acquainted with the role of chemical engineers in the industry. The faculties in the dept. Chemical engineering is very helpful and supportive towards the students. The dept. Always take Care that the students never fall short in activities like practicals or research projects. All the faculties hold a PhD. Faculties guidance is very helpful for clearing the exams.
There are various opportunities in the college for research internships. Every department has its internship program. If not interested the faculties can arrange your internship seat at some other reputed institute
Now we come to the most controversial point of the college the training and placement cell of SGGS. You get a placement if you wish to. They try from their side but it's very hard for them as well.
So SGGS has 3 fests, a cultural fest (Utsav) sports fest (Zenith) and a technological fest ( Pragyaa) all these fests last for 3 days each. The atmosphere during the fest is just mind-blowing everyone participates in the fest and enjoys it. The central library of SGGS is the best thing that happened to me as it has every book from the syllabus of my course and multiple copies of the book as well so you never fall short of the books. Talking about the sports I was a powerlifting athlete in my college. Competed for 2 years consecutively, it was a lifetime experience to train in the college gym with my powerlifting team. The college administration was really helpful to us. If interested join team chitraksha. Join it and survive till the end, if you are successful in doing so, congratulations you have won at life.
The food served at the hostel mess is not very good but decent and edible the try from there side atleast to provide the best of best the menu changes daily. They provide 3 meals a day breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hostel rooms are very good hygienic and never lack natural ambience or ventilation. The hostel is very well designed to stay cool even in the hot summers.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.
there are lots of mnc company visted college every year, most of companies have there eligiblity criteria is 60% and above overall from 10th, the biggest tech companies like tcs, wipro, accenture, deloitte, infosys, the average package is around 3lpa, every year 50 to 70% students getting placed.
The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
