So I have studied in this college from the start of my 11th and completed my 12th here. I feel connected to this college as I have got friends here. Moreover, besides friends, I like the teaching structure and creative culture of this college which attracted me a lot. I would say this college has everything I ever wanted.
As a mass communication student, I’m in the second year now and my opinion on curriculum and academics is that we have major and minor so besides mass communication I can pursue other courses too as per my choice. We have sports and our subjects in the courses are very unique compared to other colleges, not a major difference but it does make the difference. About faculty, everyone is well trained and majored in their teaching styles and subject knowledge. Our faculty is friendly towards us.
Yes, I did opt but didn’t go because my commuting hours did not match with the college timings. Also, I searched for this internship on my own because as I’m In the second year we are not provided with any internship as far as we’re in the Third year.
Eligible students are the ones with good PR and attendance above 75%. Recently Faye de Souza visited and talked about placement and also provided placements to some students. The highest package is above 25 lakhs. The percentage should be above 8 CGPA. My plans after getting the degree are to learn fashion and get a good placement at my college.
So the fees in our college are higher than any other colleges in Mumbai for bachelors as it’s a private university in all over Maharashtra. So as per the new education policy, we have to complete 4 years of graduation degree honours, and that every year our fees are increased by 5-6thousand. First year it was 1.50 Lakhs, second year 1.58 lakhs. Third year 1.63 lakhs and fourth year 1.70 lakhs. While this is the fee of the mass communication department other departments have their fee structure that varies from the department but it’s above 1.50 lakhs slightly similar. We do have scholarships but none of us knows about it as we’re not fully aware of it.
So we have cultural fest, our own departments fest and many more, feet’s are mostly conducted between December to March. Social life on campus is top notch we can talk to anyone we want freely without any hesitation. Libraries are full of knowledge and education we have all types of books available here. Sports is the major look after here everything is well maintained we have football ground which is big enough and 1st in Mumbai. We have a swimming pool Olympic size 1st in Mumbai. Our sports department is well trained and teaches so well for some students to reach out on a national level. Cultural and symphony are handled by the students in the college and these are the biggest fest in our college.
No, I haven’t opted for a hostel but as much as I have heard from the students who live in the hostel they Live a good life over there and the food is top notch tried it myself. Everything is vegetarian. As a vegetarian, I think the Food In our college is top notch and it is very good being in a Gujarati college. We can’t expect non-veg food in more hostel lights or non-vegetarian, but they are okay with vegetarian food and it trust of the canteen people for the food. I have been eating for over a year or two.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
