Remarks :
I got admission by securing 16th rank in the state entrance examination for veterinary science. Students outside the state of Assam can get admission by participating in all-India counseling via neet marks held by the Veterinary Council of India.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The reason to chose this degree is that veterinary science and animal husbandry act as an essential part of our country's developing economy. The vets are contributing significantly to the society and nation. The faculty of the college are highly qualified with 100 % of the teachers having master's and 90% of them are PhD holders. The faculty members are cooperative and try their best to make their students learn. The course duration is 5 and 1/2 years, where one year of internship is included and the final year is 1 &1/2 years. Three internal examinations are organized along with one final annual examination.
Internships Opportunities :
An internship of one year is compulsory after the completion of the degree. The place of internship is assigned by college authorities which mainly includes internships in clinical complexes under the college authorities along with laboratories, farms, etc.
Placement Experience :
After completion of BVSc and AH degrees private or semi-government companies dealing in milk, meat production, or nutrition products come for campus placement. The companies that come are not fixed. Completion of the degree allows one to continue clinical practice or apply as a state veterinary officer, or quarantine officer.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
During admission, the fees submitted were around 35-40k in the year 2019. Every year admission fees are around 20k. Hostel fees are included in admission fees. There is a minimal increase in fees every year. Hostel mess dues are to be paid separately.
Campus Life :
The college consists of an indoor stadium, a big playground one small volleyball ground and a well-equipped library, The Library remains open till night 8 o'clock and has a huge collection of books in all assigned subjects. An annual college meet is held every year in November generally where each student gets a chance to show off their talent. Debate, quiz, cultural, art, and drama clubs are a few of the active clubs of the college. NCC provides horse riding lessons too to the students.
Hostel Facilities :
Students can apply for a hostel at the time of admission. Hostel fees are taken at the time of admission. Mess dues differ from hostel to hostel. There are 3 girls hostel and 4 boys hostel. Mess dues range from 1500-3000 rs per person.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
