- Faculty and curriculum are top-notch. It prepares you for the industry from A-Z.
- The campus is extremly beautiful with a lot of things happenings all the time. We share the campus win other SIU college which helps us interact with people from other courses and learn new things.
Dislikes
- The mess food quality could be much better. Although that I'd not handled but SSCA but SIU instead.
- The Lavale campus is far from the Pune main city so it takes some time to travel and if you are a hostelite you have to leave the place early so that you can reach by the in-time. Although the in-time is pretty late (10:30 weekdays and 11:00 weekends)
Remarks :
I chose this college because I think the curriculum is very well designed and prepares us to jump straight into the industry after college. It is very well rounded, whether you want to work in a hotel or start something of your own, you will be trained for both. During the admission there was a Writing Ability Test, an MCQ with general knowledge and culinary related questions and a personal interview round. The criteria changes from year to year but the evaluation and final decision of admission is based upon how well you do in these three aspects. Apart from that a minimum percentage of 50 is required in your 12th board exams.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum includes a variety of subjects, covering all the cuisines. From bakery (both beginner and advance), garde manger, haute kitchen (Indian, Global, European as well as Bulk cooking) to extra credit course like food photography, sugar work and HCCAPP training. There are also mandatory courses of communication skills, sustainability, nutrition and disaster management. The faculty is very well trained with years of industry and teaching experience in the best properties and institutions
Internships Opportunities :
I have completed a six weeks Internship in Pullman and Novotel Aerocity and was also selected to work for Aditya Birla group. The college placement cell helped me greatly although for 6 weeks internship the locations they can help with are a little less. However, for the 6 months internship they have a lot of opportunities both in India and abroad for big properties like Palm Jumeirah, ITC, Marriott, Accor brands etc.
Placement Experience :
The final year students from culinary mostly try to get into management trainee programs. However, the college does have enough contacts to help you apply for job both India and abroad, even though we do not have campus placements. After getting the degree, I'm hoping to venture out on my own and open up a food-related business. The curriculum also has entrepreneurship classes which is helping me with my future plans.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The yearly fees is 4,00,000. To be paid semester wise (2,00,000 every six months). In the current semester the fees is increased by 10,000. The fees is the same for both Hospitality Managment and Culinary Arts. However, International students have to pay more. Since SIU is a private university, there are no such quotas or scholarships aside general category. Some cased may vary.
Campus Life :
SSCA has its own cultural fest called firefly which is mainly intra-college but it is largely a part of the fest hosted by SIBM which we share a campus with. The fest is called Transend and is usually hosted in November with a lot of events and 3 days of major guest performances. SSCA takes part in a lot of SIU sports and cultural events that are hosted all across Pune. They also have intra- college sports events held by the sports committee. We also have a cultural commitee
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is usually triple sharing. It was geyser facilities, common area, power backup, lift, etc. Although there is no Ac, the weather in Lavale is usually pretty cool so it is not very necessary either. Once you're accepted in college, they will mail you the details for Hostel application themselves. The fees is 2,00,000 per year and it is to be paid in installments every 6 months. The mess food quality, however, is not that great.

An industry focused learning experience
Placement Experience :
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track

no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Average college provide average facilities

Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.

Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .

There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.

engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.

there are lots of mnc company visted college every year, most of companies have there eligiblity criteria is 60% and above overall from 10th, the biggest tech companies like tcs, wipro, accenture, deloitte, infosys, the average package is around 3lpa, every year 50 to 70% students getting placed.

The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
