AIIMS Patna begins its admission process in August. Students enter through national-level entrance exams, followed by centralised counselling. Seats are assigned according to All India Rank and government reservation rules. MBBS and B.Sc Hons Nursing are among its undergraduate options.

Entrance application charges depend on the exam and category. For MBBS applicants, the NEET UG fee is INR 1,700 for General, INR 1,600 for General EWS/OBC and INR 1,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

MBBS applicants must first qualify NEET UG. MCC then allocates AIIMS Patna seats through its counselling process.

AIIMS Patna UG Admission 2026

Students can choose MBBS, B.Sc Hons Nursing or B.Sc Paramedical at the undergraduate level. Each programme has its own entrance exam and eligibility requirements. Course length, seats and qualifying marks are compared below.

Steps to Apply for MBBS

The application and counselling steps vary by programme. MBBS applicants complete the following steps:

Submit the NEET UG registration form and take the examination.
Obtain a valid NEET UG score.
Complete online registration for MCC NEET Counselling.
Enter preferred choices based on the score and personal preferences, then lock them.
Review the seat allotment list published by MCC for each round.
After receiving a seat, reach the institute at the assigned date and time.
Have the documents verified and pay the admission fee to confirm the seat.

Ans. The post-doctoral fellowship entrance test awards marks and applies deductions as follows:

A correct response earns +1 mark.
A wrong response leads to a deduction of 1/3 mark.
A question left unanswered receives 0 marks.
Admission eligibility requires a score at the 50th percentile.

Ques. How much must nursing applicants pay when registering for the entrance examination?

Ans. Payment of the entrance registration charge completes the B.Sc Hons Nursing application process. General and OBC applicants pay INR 2,000, while the charge for SC/ST/EWS applicants is INR 1,600.

Ques. What registration charges apply to fellowship entrance applicants?

The NTA-issued NEET 2026 admit card as an original print, rather than a photocopy.
The NEET/NTA scorecard issued by NTA as an original print, rather than a photocopy.
Class 10 and Class 12 certificates.
The Class 12 migration certificate from the university or board last attended.
Five (5) passport-size photographs matching the photograph uploaded or affixed to the NEET UG 2026 application form.
Identity proof: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport or Driving Licence. Aadhaar is preferred.
An applicable OBC(NCL), SC, ST or EWS certificate in the format specified in the AIIMS New Delhi prospectus.

Ques. What happens during the medical fitness assessment for selected students?

Ans. Selected students must be examined by a medical board made up of AIIMS Patna faculty members. A student whom the board finds medically unfit cannot be admitted, and the board's decision is final. The seat then goes to the next candidate in merit order.

AIIMS PATNA : HONEST REVIEW

Remarks:

AIIMS Patna admission process: We need to secure a good rank( for general, rank <1400) in the NEET exam. After new results, there is an around 1-month online counselling process consisting of 2 rounds and a mop-up round. There is no group discussion or interview for admission. After getting shortlisted in counselling, document verification and medical examination take place after which the admission process gets completed. Good aspects: AIIMS tag is a brand in itself. It has one of the best faculties and research opportunities. Scholars from all states of India are part of this college and there is no discrimination based on region or language. Hostel facilities are amazing. Students get a single room from the first year itself. There are multiple fests like KAIZEN (annual cultural fest) and ZAGON (intra-college sports fest) and events for co-curricular activities.
