CDLU Admission Dates 2027

CDLU is expected to begin its next admission cycle in May 2027. CUET UG and CUET PG scores are expected to support admission to most programmes.

CDLU Courses and Fees

Across its 252 programmes and 24 departments, CDLU covers engineering, pharmacy, science, humanities, commerce, law, education and management. Total course fees extend from INR 8,260 for LLM to INR 2,10,000 for B.Tech AI and ML and B.Pharm.

Other choices include the 5-year integrated B.Sc+M.Sc in Mathematics for INR 2,10,000 and the 4-year integrated B.Sc+B.Ed for INR 1,38,000. At the UG level, CDLU also offers B.Sc courses in Data Science and Fashion Design. The PGDCA diploma costs INR 24,000.

CDLU Admission Process

CDLU admits students through merit-based centralised counselling on its admission portal. The university has no private management quota, and the online registration fee is INR 100. The required examination and counselling route depends on the course family.

B.Tech Admission

• Applicants need at least 50% in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• A valid JEE Main score is required for admission.
• The process covers HSTES counselling, choice submission, seat allocation, document checking and fee confirmation.

For B.Tech CSE, the JEE Main cutoff generally remains below the 70 percentile level for the General category. This gives JEE Main-qualified students who do not obtain places at NITs or leading state engineering colleges another admission option.

UG Programmes (BA/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/BCA)

• Students must complete 10+2 in the relevant stream with at least 50%.
• Selection requires a valid CUET UG score.
• CDLU prepares the CUET UG merit list and conducts several counselling rounds through cdluadmissions.ac.in.

Law Programmes (LLB and BA+LLB)

• For the 5-year BA+LLB, applicants need 45% in 10+2 and a valid CLAT or Haryana CET Law score.
• The 3-year LLB requires graduation with 45% and a valid CLAT or Haryana CET Law score.
• Both law courses have BCI recognition and follow Haryana's state counselling rules.

PG Programmes (MA/M.Sc/MBA/MCA/M.Lib)

• A relevant bachelor's degree with at least 50% is required, although MBA accepts graduates from any stream.
• Applicants must hold a valid CUET PG score.
• Final selection uses CUET PG merit followed by university counselling rounds.

M.Tech and Ph.D

• M.Tech applicants need a B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant engineering field and a valid GATE score.
• Ph.D admission requires a master's degree with 55%, reduced to 50% for SC/ST applicants, along with UGC NET/JRF or the CDLU Research Entrance Test, followed by an interview.

CDLU Placements

The Training and Placement Cell supports graduating students with recruitment opportunities both on and outside the campus. B.Tech and MBA students see the most placement activity. Many humanities and science undergraduates instead choose higher education, competitive examinations or government-service careers.

The highest package recorded by CDLU is INR 13 LPA. According to the university's NIRF 2026 submission, 16 of 310 eligible students from 2-year PG courses secured placement offers in 2025, and their median package was INR 3.36 LPA. The UG median package was INR 1.25 LPA. Recruiters included Dainik Bhaskar, Serco, Max Hospitals and Bajaj Allianz Health Insurance from the media, IT services, healthcare and insurance sectors.

CDLU Rankings

CDLU provides institutional data to NIRF each year. However, it does not currently feature in the published NIRF University ranked list.

CDLU Scholarships

Undergraduate and postgraduate students may apply for university merit support and government-funded scholarship schemes. Applications are handled through CDLU, the Haryana government portal or the National Scholarship Portal, depending on the scheme.

Students submit PMS applications through the National Scholarship Portal. OBC students who meet the income conditions may also use scholarship schemes offered by the Haryana Backward Classes Welfare Department.

CDLU Campus and Infrastructure

CDLU's 213-acre Sirsa campus has 24 departmental buildings, computer laboratories, a language laboratory, a central library and a sports complex. The life sciences department also uses the campus botanical garden.

Separate hostels are provided for male and female students. The annual charge for either hostel is up to INR 13,100. Resident students can obtain basic medical care from the campus health centre.

The library provides books, journals and digital databases for different fields of study. Students can use facilities for cricket, football, badminton and athletics. The campus also houses a dedicated placement training cell and a Centre for Distance Education for open-learning students.

CDLU vs MDU Rohtak vs Kurukshetra University

CDLU, Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak and Kurukshetra University are Haryana state universities. Their establishment years, accreditation, campus sizes, programme counts, B.Tech fees and NIRF status differ as shown below.

MDU Rohtak and Kurukshetra University have larger campuses, higher NAAC grades and positions in the NIRF rankings. CDLU serves students from Sirsa, Fatehabad and southern Haryana more directly. Its fees remain comparable with those of the two other state universities, while its AICTE-recognised and BCI-recognised courses follow the same regulatory standards.
