Facts and campus life of UAS Bangalore

What I Liked

The infrastructure of college is excellent as it provides HighTech facilities, good classrooms, well maintained labs. The college have more than sufficient faculty for each subject. The facilities provided for sports is also very nice.
Here we have good campus life as the interaction between the students is nice. here we get platform to socialize with other fellow mates, good alumni connection and overall good experience because of all the facilities available in campus itself.

What I didn’t like

AS because of course curriculum the classes are from morning till evening for 6 days a week which is quiet frustrating and tiring for the students to manage with, also the college campus is in huge area of 1300 acres of land which makes it difficult for the students to reach their respective departments every other time if they lack with their own vehicles.
The college is less student friendly because of its strict rules and regulations as if in the medical conditions also they give 10% concession on attendance otherwise the student might get shortage of attendance and may have to extend the degree for a year.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate is low for the agricultural campuses still our college tries best to get their students a job. around 3.5 lakh per annum CTC is offered for the students after graduation. Many students prepare for the government exam like AAO, AO, FSO, FCI, AFO, Bank PO, UPSC, State PSC, KVK job recruitment, NABARD exams, Post Graduate studies, off campus placements can be taken through giving our CV to directly to the companies as many companies are Bangalore based, and new startups are there to work for. My plan is to pursue MBA after the degree to get higher package.

Remarks:

While selecting the college UAS Bangalore it ranked 6th among all agricultural universities in India. as it is situated in the Bangalore metropolitan district which made it an attractive place to study, and it also allows for more exposure to the students. I got this college through ICAR AIEEA UG examination (All India Students can give) in which I scored 99%ile and got this college in first counselling itself. another exam for getting admission into this college is KCET which is for local Karnataka students. As I was admitted through ICAR I had not given any other interview or other physical exams. Cutoff for this college through ICAR AIEEA is around 98%ile. I had prepared for the exam from coaching centers and took full year preparation for this exam and gave weekly tests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course covers a wide range of subjects like economics , entomology, Horticulture, apiculture, crop physiology , extension, marketing, biochemistry, biotechnology, food and nutrition, agronomy, agricultural, engineering, pathology and more

Remarks:

I wanted to dive in deep to the Agriculture and Agribusiness sector and develop few advances like precision agriculture in the sector. I got entry to this college through Karnataka Common entrance test (KCET)

What I Liked

University has a huge infrastructure,we do get to surround ourselves with most of the things related to agriculture We have fishery unit , sericulture unit, watershed, agricultural engineering department, horticulture department,biotech department, pathi department,....it's wide
The other facilities like library, labs , research area, expermital plots are much usefull aswell

What I didn’t like

It is very far from the main gate The transportation for the localities is a big task

Placement Experience:

There are almost no placement opportunities, we rather go for higher studies or management exams, banking exams , some competitive exams aswell , whereas we can also comeup with enterpreneurship opportunities

Remarks:

The good aspect about the college is The locality, environment , the faculty is supporting, experienced and also the campus has good access for the students to library, labs ,experimental plots Bad aspect would be Less job opportunities

My experience in college of Agriculture, GKVK Bangalore

Placement Experience:

Yes the university has the placement cell Through which many agriculture based companies approaches the students I got selected in IDBI bank for the package of 6.5 LPA That bank came through placement cell itself

This college is in Bangalore So I loved Bangalore from my childhood itself and I wanted to come to Bangalore for the study So after selection in the ICAR exam my 1st preference was gkvk banglore only!

Step in the world of GKVK

What I Liked

The campus is good . You have lot to explore in the campus
Faculty is also good . They are knowledgeable and experienced in their respective subjects

What I didn’t like

Attendance is compulsory. You have 5 marks for attendance
Continuous exams results in hectic schedule

Placement Experience:

There are no placements provided on campus for BSc while MSC and PhD students might get the placements. Also, the agribusiness management students get the placements after pursuing their master's.

Remarks:

Agriculture is one of the growing sectors. I applied for this college as most of the researchers are from this college. Even the research facilities are good. You can get admission here through Kcet, Icar(Cuet), and also from NRI self. To get admission your rank should be good in the respective tests.

What I Liked

The college campus, the faculty, both are top notch.
The Campus life is always full of adventures and you will always yearn for the All India Tour which will be offered here.

What I didn’t like

The hostel management facility can really improve themselves

Placement Experience:

Fewer placement opportunities but good opportunities for students looking for or planning to pursue their masters. The faculty is really good. Students here always tend to pursue higher studies. They will always support you.

Remarks:

The environment on the campus made me join this college, I learned through kcet exam will be less than 7000, and special quota for Farmer's children, and also have a written practical test to join this and its score should not be less than 190 out of 200

GKVK- the best way and the best place. Some call it heaven, while i call it home.

What I Liked

First and foremost thing, the campus, the greenery, the refreshing air, friendly animals which will make your day. Make sure to feed them good food not plastic.
Second, the faculty and our own college life. They all will support you to study hard and better. Moreover in a smart way. But they also help you to enjoy it by planning a All India Tour . Which will be the best memory I promise.

What I didn’t like

There are not many things you can dislike about this beautiful university.
Sometimes hostel committee is little late to fix your hostel worries, like broken tap, window handles, charging point etc.

Placement Experience:

Students who study agricultural sciences usually tend to pursue higher studies, like M.Sc., MBA etc. You do have not that great placement options but you have a good master's prgramme over here which will surely increase your value in the future

Remarks:

K-CET was the way I got in here. The college is really good for pursuing any agricultural science courses. The cut-off rank and marks usually vary but I would recommend anyone who wishes to study in this college to get a rank lesser than 10000 in CET.

Most honest review of an agricultural college

What I Liked

Great library facilities, great sports facilities, like basketball courts and football ground is internation level,
Teachers are well educated , seniors are very supportive,

What I didn’t like

Food is very poor, hostel accommodation is very messy as 6 members stay in one room
There is few western toilets , most of them are Indian toilets

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent Jai jawan is a popular recruiter Highest package is 10 LPA The average is 4 LPA Above 40% placements Starting an own startup in agri is a better idea than working in corporate because I believe we can make a lot of profit while doing a startup in agri

Remarks:

I prepared for the CET exam, I got the agri seat through this CET counseling The admission process is through counseling consisting of 3 rounds and a mop round A good aspect of this college is that it is very much sports-oriented and culturally oriented college they will give you all the necessary information and products for you to excel in life

What I Liked

The infrastructure is amazing The library, Classroom, convention centre, auditorium,etc
Faculty is very supportive,you can contact them in case of any guidance

What I didn’t like

The hostel is crowded which has a scope for improvement
Some faculty people should improve their teaching and communication skills

Placement Experience:

There are many agricultural competative exams available,and you can crack with the knowledge you learnt in 4 year courses, and other many private companies also look forward to recruit these students

Remarks:

I found the course had demand in future so I choose this course, no, there was no interview taken for admission,CET exam is the base for admission, The environment,staff are very good ,you get a practical knowledge here
