CUSAT Placement FAQs

Ques. What is the reservation quota for staff kids at CUSAT?

Ans. CUSAT keeps one extra seat each for children of its permanent employees in BBA, LL.B. (H), B.Com, LL.B. (H), all professional postgraduate programs offered on a Self-financing/Cost Sharing basis such as M.C.A., and the AIM category of every B.Tech. Engineering branch in SOE and CUCEK. Students admitted through this category, including SC/ST/OEC candidates, cannot claim fee concession or refund because it is a privileged category seat. The candidate has to apply online, get a valid rank in the relevant CAT, and submit the required certificate in the given format during the Interview, Group Discussion, Counselling or Admission stage, as instructed for that candidate.

Ques. How can a student apply for the PhD program at CUSAT?

Ans. PhD applicants do not have to submit an online application. They can collect the PhD application form from the concerned department and send the filled form to that department within the deadline given in the notification. A student who wants to work toward a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree must register as a Full-Time or Part-Time research student in an Academic Unit of study or in an institution recognised by the University for this purpose, under the proper Faculty. In recognised research institutions, Part-Time registration is allowed only for permanent employees of those institutions. The admission application must be given to the Head of the concerned Academic Unit of Research in the prescribed format after paying the required fees. Students planning research in recognised research institutions must send their applications through the Head of Institution to the Head of the concerned Academic Unit of Research.

Ques. What facilities does the CUSAT Placement Cell provide?

Ans. CUSAT Central Placement Office manages the campus selection process and helps recruiters meet suitable students. The office keeps students informed about recruiter expectations so they can prepare for the placement process. It also works to keep recruitment clear, smooth and easy to complete. The placement team handles communication with recruiters, slot fixing, student coordination and other related placement activities. The Placement Officer, staff members and student coordinators work together to support placement drives at CUSAT.
