SIU Admission Dates 2026

SIU uses different entrance routes for different programmes. MBA applicants must apply through SNAP 2026 for the 2027-29 batch. MBBS admission is through NEET UG counselling conducted by MCC for deemed university seats.

SIU Courses and Fees

SIU has more than 311 programmes across 25-plus institutes. The university revises fees every year. The table below lists the main course fees for 2026-27.

For MBA programmes, SIU fees range from INR 3,70,000 for the base MBA at SIMS to INR 32,13,800 for Finance and Marketing at SIBM Pune. This creates an 8x difference within the same university. In most programmes, Year 1 is higher than later years because it includes a one-time institutional charge of INR 40,000.

SIU Admission Process

MBA (All Symbiosis Institutes)

Admission to all 29 MBA programmes at 17 SIU institutes is based on SNAP. Students can take SNAP up to three times in one cycle, and the best percentile is used. After SNAP, students must apply separately to each institute and programme.

• Eligibility: Graduation with at least 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for SC/ST students. The minimum age is 21 years.
• Entrance: SNAP is compulsory. Students must pay the SNAP registration fee of INR 2,250 and a separate programme registration fee of INR 1,000 for each institute programme.
• Selection process: The process includes SNAP, institute shortlisting, Group Exercise (GE), Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Final merit is based on SNAP performance and the GE-PIWAT composite score.
• SIBM Pune and SCMHRD usually have the highest SNAP percentile cutoffs among SIU institutes. Each institute releases its cutoff separately.

B.Tech (Symbiosis Institute of Technology)

SIT Pune accepts SITEEE or a valid JEE Main score for B.Tech admission. SET is not used for engineering admission.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with at least 45% aggregate marks
• Entrance: SITEEE or JEE Main score
• Selection: SITEEE or JEE Main score, followed by a Personal Interview at SIT Pune

UG Programmes (BA, BBA, B.Sc, B.Com, Mass Communication)

Most non-engineering UG programmes at SIU use SET, which is the Symbiosis Entrance Test. After the test result, institute-level admission rounds are held for selected programmes.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for SC/ST students
• Entrance: SET score submitted to the chosen Symbiosis institute
• Selection: SET score and institute-level Personal Interview for selected programmes

Integrated Law (Symbiosis Law School)

For 5-year BA-LLB, BBA-LLB and BCom-LLB admission, students must take SLAT. The final selection gives 70% weight to the SLAT written score and 30% weight to the Personal Interview.

• Eligibility: 10+2 from any stream with at least 45% aggregate marks
• Entrance: SLAT, with separate registration on set-test.org
• Scholarship: The top 3 SLAT rankers get a 50% academic fee scholarship, while ranks 6 to 8 get a 25% scholarship.

MBBS (Symbiosis Medical College for Women)

MBBS admission is based on NEET UG score and MCC allotment for deemed university seats. The programme is open only to female candidates.

SIU Placements

SIBM Pune, the flagship management institute of SIU, completed 100% placement for the 2025 batch. The highest package was INR 74.84 LPA, while the average and median packages were INR 28.83 LPA and INR 26.04 LPA. The placement season had participation from 109 recruiters.

Placements in 2025 came from several sectors. Automotive and Manufacturing made up 29% of placements, followed by BFSI at 19%, FMCG at 15% and Consulting at 12%. Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Tata Motors, Procter and Gamble, ICICI Bank and Amazon were among the top recruiters. SIT Pune and other SIU constituent institutes run their own placement drives through the Central Placement Office.

SIU Rankings

SIU has NAAC A++ Grade with a CGPA of 3.56 and is a UGC Category-I institution. In NIRF 2025, the university is ranked 40th Overall, 24th among Universities and 11th in Management.

SIU Scholarships

SIU gives scholarships based on merit at the university level and at the programme level. Semester scholarships are given to high-performing students in each batch. Law applicants admitted through SLAT also have scholarship options linked to their merit list rank.

SIU Campus and Infrastructure

Symbiosis International University has its main campus on 300 acres at Lavale Village, near Pune. The campus brings together institutes for management, engineering, law, design, media, health sciences and social sciences.

The university has campuses in six cities: Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nashik, Noida and Nagpur. The Lavale campus includes the following facilities:

The Lavale campus works like a self-contained academic township. It is 25 km from Pune city centre and 15 km from Hinjewadi IT Park, which keeps students close to Maharashtra's largest technology employer cluster. SIU has two campuses in Pune, including Lavale and another city campus, along with campuses outside Maharashtra.

SIU vs Manipal Academy of Higher Education vs Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Symbiosis International University, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are private deemed-to-be universities that appear in the top 50 of NIRF and offer programmes across engineering, management, medicine, law and sciences. Students looking at private deemed universities often compare these three options.

Among these three universities, SIU has a stronger management profile because SIBM Pune holds NIRF Management rank 11 and has a strong placement record. MAHE Manipal stands ahead in medical education and overall NIRF rank, supported by wider research work and international partnerships. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has a stronger research profile in engineering and computer science, and its NAAC CGPA of 3.72 is the highest among the three.
