BBAU UG Admission 2026

BBAU Lucknow offers more than 1,200 seats in over 15 undergraduate and diploma programmes at the Lucknow Main Campus. CUET UG 2026 is the basis for UG admission. For B.Tech, 50% seats are allotted through JEE Main and 50% seats through CUET UG, with separate merit lists for both routes.

Note: BBAU reserves 50% seats for SC/ST students, which widens admission access for these communities. The split is 2:1, so two SC seats are kept for every one ST seat. After admission, SC/ST students also get full tuition fee waivers.

BBAU UG Selection Criteria 2026

For UG programmes under the CUET route, BBAU prepares admission lists from CUET UG 2026 merit scores only. There is no group discussion, personal interview, or separate university test. B.Tech seats under the JEE route are filled only through JEE Main 2026 percentile merit.

• BBAU publishes merit lists by programme and category on the BBAU Samarth portal.
• Seat allotment is held in more than one round. A student who does not report in Round I loses the allotted seat.
• If two students have the same CUET score, BBAU first gives preference to the older student by date of birth and then to the student with higher marks in the qualifying exam.
• B.Tech lateral entry programmes have 6 supernumerary seats per branch for diploma holders.

How to Apply for UG Admission at BBAU?

1. Take CUET UG 2026 through the NTA portal (exams.nta.ac.in). For B.Tech seats under JEE, take JEE Main 2026.
2. After the result is declared, go to bbaucuet.samarth.edu.in and complete the BBAU registration form.
3. Pay the BBAU registration fee: INR 500 for General/OBC/EWS students and INR 300 for SC/ST/PwBD students.
4. Upload Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, category certificate if needed, and valid ID proof.
5. Enter course preferences in priority order. BBAU does not allow choice changes after the choice-filling window closes.
6. Check the merit list on the BBAU portal and confirm the seat allotment result.
7. Visit the BBAU campus with original documents for verification and pay the admission and caution money fees that apply.

Important: CUET UG participation does not automatically make a student a BBAU applicant. BBAU portal registration at bbaucuet.samarth.edu.in is a separate compulsory step with its own fee and deadline.

BBAU PG Admission 2026

Most BBAU PG programmes use CUET PG 2026 scores for admission. M.Tech admission is based on GATE, while M.Pharm accepts CUET PG or GPAT. MBA applicants can use CUET PG or CAT scores, and LLM admission is through CUET PG. BBAU does not hold a separate entrance test for PG admission.

PG seats are allotted from CUET PG 2026 merit scores. BBAU does not conduct a written test, interview, or group discussion for these PG courses. For MBA seats that accept CAT, BBAU uses CAT percentile, and for M.Tech, it uses GATE score.

• Seat allotment is done phase by phase. A student allotted a Phase-I seat must accept it within the given time or lose it before Phase-II starts.
• Seats left after Phase-I move to Phase-II and later rounds.
• PG Skill Based programmes follow a separate Non-CUET process. Students must check the official notice published on May 26, 2026 at bbau.ac.in.
• The same 50% SC/ST reservation system used at UG level also applies to PG admission.

How to Apply for PG Admission at BBAU?

1. Take CUET PG 2026 through the NTA portal. For M.Tech, take GATE 2026. For M.Pharm, take GPAT 2026.
2. After scores are released, register for BBAU PG admission at bbaucuet.samarth.edu.in/pg.
3. Pay the BBAU PG registration fee during the registration period. After the regular deadline, a late fee of INR 1,000 applies.
4. Use the correction window to fix mistakes before the final merit list is prepared.
5. Check Phase-I and Phase-II merit lists on the BBAU website and download the allotment letter.
6. Report to the university with original certificates, including qualifying degree marksheets, category certificate, transfer certificate, and character certificate.

BBAU PhD Admission 2026

BBAU Lucknow offers PhD programmes in more than 28 disciplines, including Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Management, and Computer Science. The university keeps 50% of research seats for SC/ST students. For 2026-27, PhD admission follows UGC norms, where JRF/NET exemption category students and students clearing the CUET PhD entrance test can be considered.

• Applicants need a Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD students).
• Students with a valid JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) can go directly to the personal interview without clearing the BBAU entrance test.
• NET qualified students without JRF and M.Phil. degree holders get preference during selection.
• Students without NET/JRF must clear the BBAU entrance test or CUET PhD, as per current UGC norms, before the interview stage.
• Application fee: INR 1,000 per application.

BBAU PhD Selection Criteria 2026

BBAU calculates PhD merit using a composite score. The entrance test has 70% weightage and the personal interview has 30% weightage.

• The interview checks academic record, fellowship status such as JRF/NET/M.Phil., research proposal quality, and personal interaction.
• JRF holders attend the interview directly. Their fellowship score is counted in the academic weightage part.
• BBAU releases final merit lists by department and category on the university website.

How to Apply for PhD at BBAU?

1. Check bbau.ac.in for the official PhD admission notification for 2026-27. NTA may publish CUET PhD details on the NTA portal.
2. Register and submit the online application form through the BBAU or NTA portal as stated in the notification.
3. Pay the online application fee of INR 1,000.
4. Take the entrance test, CUET PhD or BBAU test, in October 2026 if you do not have JRF.
5. Attend the personal interview with a research proposal for the selected department.
6. Check the final merit list on bbau.ac.in and report for admission with all original documents.
