Uttarakhand Sanskrit University offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate courses and diploma courses. In addition, the university also offers Ph.D. and MPhil courses in Sanskrit Sahitya (literature). Uttarakhand Sanskrit University admission for all courses is available online.

• The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to UG courses are candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45% marks whereas for PG admission candidates must have passed Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 50% of marks.
• BA, B.Ed., B.Lib.Sc. , BJMC and certificate courses at the undergraduate level and postgraduate courses such as M.A, M.Lib.Sc., and PGD are done on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam.
• Admission to the B.Ed. Shiksha Shastri course at Uttarakhand Sanskrit University are done on the basis of a written entrance test known as the Pre-Shiksha Shastri Test followed by Counselling
• Candidates applying for PhD will have to appear for the PET (PhD Entrance Test) upon which selection will be made. Students who have passed the JRC-NET or NET (National Eligibility Test) or SET Uttarakhand (State Eligibility Test) examinations of University Grants Commission or students who hold an M.Phil degree in the concerned subject are exempted from writing the PET and will be selected based on the Personal Interview that will follow.n
• Ph.D. admissions are done on the basis of merit. Candidates must have secured minimum 55% aggregate marks in the previous master’s degree program to be eligible for admission.
