The University of Gour Banga is locatedin English Bazar area of Malda district in West Bengal. It was established on March 10, 2008, by the Government of West Bengal and is affiliated with UGC, NAAC, AIU and BCI. The Chancellor of the Gour Banga University is Jagdeep Dhankher. It is one of the newest universities established by the Government of West Bengal. The University has 28 general degree colleges in Malda, Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur and offers both UG and PG programmes.

Gour Banga University: Eligibility Criterion

Students need to pass 12^thwith 50% aggregate to admit in Under Graduate programme and 45% inrelevant subjects.
To get admission in B.Ed. a candidate must have 10+2+3 with 45% aggregate from a recognised institution.
Admission to B.Ed., B.Sc., B.Com., BCA and LLB will be done on the basis of merit.
Admission to B.A will be done on the first-first-cum-first basis.
To seek admission in BCA a candidate must have Mathematics, Computer Application or Computer Science in 12^thboard examination.
To get admission in LLB students must have completed higher secondary education with a minimum 45% aggregate.
For M.A./M.Sc. candidates must have done their B.A./B.Sc in relevant subjects with 45%-50% aggregate.
M.Com applicants must have done their bachelor’s in relevant stream.
For LLM, a student must have done LLB with 50% aggregate.
Admission to the PG courses will be done by entrance examination, counselling and merit basis.
To get admission in research-based course like PhD, students have to get 50% marks in Post Graduate. Admission will be done through entrance examination and interview process. Students with regular degree of M.Phil. can not apply for this course.
Reserved category students will get 5% of relaxation in aggregate and in relevant subjects.

Gour Banga University: Admission Process

To seek admission in Bachelor’s degree in the University of Gour Banga, the admission process will be done on merit-based, for Post Graduation course the admission procedure will be done by entrance examination and merit-based and for doctoral applicants, they have to go through entrance examination and interview.

Online Application Process:

The application will be available on the official website of the University. So a candidate needs to visit the website and there will be application from for every course.
The required personal and educational details should be filled in carefully after that a message will be recievedon phone regarding ID proof and password.
Through the ID an applicant can log in and choose the course type. The registration fee will be INR 200. Then the applicant will receive the application form.
Students need to fill this form carefully and should submit every documents which are required to submit.
Application fees should be submitted along with the application form. Application fee will be for courses students is INR 700, for PG courses students fee is INR 400 and for reserved category students fee will be INR 150. For research based course the fee will be INR 500 and for reserve category’s fee will be INR 300.
The challan receipt, acknowledgement slip and printed copy should be kept by the applicants for future use.

Offline Application Process:

The application form will be available at the University. The form will be available at the registered office of Gour Banga University, NH 34, Post office – Mokdumpur, Malda – 732103, West Bengal, India.
The application form should be filled up carefully and the required documents should be submitted along with the application form.
For the students applying to UG programme, the application fee is INR 700+40, for the PG programme fee it isINR 400,for doctoral courses, the fee will be INR 500 and for reserved category students the UG programme fee is INR 150 and for doctoral course the fee is INR 300.
The applicant should keep all the receipts and printed copy of application form for fourth use.
